The musical takes place in the 1920’s when prohibition is going on. Jimmy Winters has just been married and him and his new wife arrive at his beach house. When they arrive, they find Shorty McGee, who they assume is their butler. In reality, Shorty is really just storing his liquor in the house, so he goes on pretending to be their butler. Jimmy received a telegram that he is still married to his first wife, Lady Katherine, or Kay, so his new bride leaves him.
Lucy would agree under one condition, Desi was to play the role of her husband. This would be the couple’s opportunity to work together and hopefully help fix their shaky marriage. CBS refused saying, “viewers would have difficulty accepting the Cuban Arnaz as the husband of the all-American redhead,” (Desi Arnaz & Lucille Ball, 2008). Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz were not going to let that stand in their way. They decided to start a vaudeville tour to show CBS that Americans would love them together.
Perry thru out the novel had this recurring dream about a yellow bird. Perry’s dream is first mentioned at the beginning of the novel when Perry mentioned his fantasy of him in a Las Vegas night club singing a self-composed song about parrots, “Every April flights of parrots, Fly overhead, red and green, Green and tangerine. I see them fly, I hear them high, Singing parrots bringing April spring…”(p.16) Dick felt the song was stupid, but Perry felt that Dick was pragmatic, yet Perry also mentioned that Dick’s literalness, “was the primary reason Perry had been attracted to him, for it made Dick seem, compared to himself, so authentically tough, invulnerable.”(p.16) Later Perry described the dream he had about the yellow bird in great detail. In Perry’s dream, Perry was trying to collect a bushel of diamonds in the trees, but there was a snake that guarded the diamonds. Even with the snake guarding the diamonds Perry was determined to get the diamonds.
Pocahontas and John Smith were young adults who fell in love sort of like Romeo and Juliet because their love seems impossible. The movie spices up when John Smith and Pocahontas are caught together. She was engaged to a Native American called Kocoum therefore it was tragic to find her with John Smith; the Native Americans try to kill John Smith but Pocahontas saves his life. The Disney movie basically portrays them as falling in love and at the end; John Smith is shot and leaves Virginia while Pocahontas stays. The real story did not happen that way.
Concert Review Essay The most impression and brilliant concert I have ever witness was on February 29, the Jazz Ensemble at Georgia State University. They had their first concert of the spring semester. A young and nice girl named Kimbra who also the youngest performer took the stage first with a pleasant. She appeared very cute and had a great stage presence, but during this first song I felt as if she wasn't reaching the full potential of her voice. Next was Eddie Perfect, who received quite a lot of applause upon entering the stage.
“27 Dresses” The film 27 Dresses (2008) directed by Anne Fletcher is a romantic comedy that tell the story of a woman who fulfills the saying: always the bridesmaid, never the bride. Jane Nichols has been a part of twenty seven weddings and has kept every dress much to the amazement of the reporter who is covering her sister’s marriage to man she thought she was in love with. This film tells the story of how one woman transformed herself from the bridesmaid to the bride. The director’s use of editing, characters and costumes all contribute to make this film the best it can be. By examining the film we can see the use of all these to illustrate the narrative of one woman’s journey of falling in love.

Jack sees that Rose is not happy with Cal and he tries to free her and the two end up falling inlove after he saves her from wanting to jump off the back of the Titanic. Rose's mother, Ruth, doesn't approve of the two (Jack and Rose) being together, mainly for 2 reasons, 1- Jack is poor, and 2- Cal is set to marry Rose so that they will stay rich. Well, the two try their best to break away from Ruth and Cal, however, the Titanic hits an iceburgh and ends up sinking. Jack has been falsely accused of stealing a very expensive diamond necklace and is handcuffed to a pipe in the bottom of the ship.
