Anne Frank Biography Hello, my name is Anne Frank. My full and official name by birth is Annelies Marie Frank, but you can just call me Anne, or Annie. I was born on June 12, 1929 in the very large city of Frankfurt, Germany. At one point in my life, Frankfurt was a very quiet and settled, yet a wonderful place to grow up in. You could say that my opinions slightly changed on that after a series of extremely unfortunate events… but I’ll tell you more about that later. I was born and raised into a very loving and caring family, who were very satisfied with the little things in life, such as memories and experiences with our loved ones. We were just the same as any other typical upper middle class German Jewish family. During my time in the world, I had a mother named Edith, a father named Otto, and an older sister named Margot. We all got along very well for the most part, and held each other very close to our hearts. I now know that I was born into a society that would eventually begin to disrupt all Jewish people’s lives including myself at the young age of 13, in 1942. During the 1920’s, which were my first years of childhood, the German economy struggled horrifically. A large factor to this struggle came from the sanctions that were imposed on Germany by the 1919 Treaty of Versailles, which ended World War 1. For those who don’t know, a sanction is basically a threatened penalty for disobeying or abiding the law. Because of this awful debt that Germany and most of its population were in, the German community as a whole was in a very panicked and stressed mindset. We all desperately needed leadership from somebody who would stray our country down a brighter path. Everybody believed that their hopes and prayers had been answered when Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party took over. That is everyone except for Jewish people. Hitler took office in 1933, and at that
