Violent Culture There have been so many stories of violence in the news, both on television and the internet. The question of blame is a logical one. However, another question comes to mind, is it that they are to blame? Or is it that access to this information from all over the world is so easily accessible that we are just hearing more about it now than in years past. Darren Beals article Violent Culture tells us how a young man learned to build a bomb from the internet.
“Grief in the Age of Facebook” is the article that causes people to think about their lives and eternal things in the age of advanced technologies. According to the author, life is too complicated and people whom we known or see everyday may show us we do not know them at all. People demonstrate their individuality from different aspects and an accident can take life. However, the author wanted to show that memories are those eternal things that help people remember those who have died. People with a great family and great friends go on these chat websites and waste away their lives talking to a screen. The internet and the technology we use to access it are a way for people to hide from their real life problems. When people go on the internet, they feel like they can say whatever they want, mostly because they don’t have to say it to anyone’s face.
These sites allow people to gossip, spread rumors and lies worldwide. Facebook has become very proper to young adult the put all their business out there for everyone to read. I n other words watch what you say because in the end you may have to suffer the consequences if you say or do something inappropriately.
Privacy is slowly corroding, and all this information can be obtained from any social networking site. Young adults who are struggling to find themselves can face some level of identity crisis. He or she may become involved in drugs or criminal behavior, which could result in negative circumstances. Many young adults find themselves in possession of an identity characterized by these rebellious behaviors. They claim to be non-conformist to show that they're different from their peers.
