This clearly shows an example of how destructive shame can be on someone’s life. Some people can overcome shame and redeem them selves but to other people it can destroy their whole life. Another character form the book that experiences the tragedy of shame is Baba. Thru out the book it is revealed to us that Hassan is also Baba’s son. Baba feels ashamed of being Hassan’s father because he kept it a secret to everyone for all this time.

One of those situations being the betrayal of Finny to Gene when he causes him to flunk his first test. Another being how betrayed Gene felt when Leper accused him of deliberately hurting Finny and causing him to fall out of the tree, shattering his leg. The most influential betrayal of the whole novel was when Gene jounced the limb and broke Finny’s leg. Although finny forgave him, he still couldn’t help but feel a little bit betrayed by him. He had always thought they were best friends and that they were always there for each other, when Finny never realized Gene only saw the competition between them, and that really shows how completely different types of people they are.
Creon is sorry for what he was done, he repents, but it is already too late. He only finds true justice when everything he cared for was gone. As mentioned above, Willy reflects Biffs’ failure in business as a reflection of his own dreams of succeeding although he only succeeded for a short while in his life. Also, the affair that Willy was in might have affected Biff and made him unable to keep a job. Willy has such insecurities with betrayal and himself that not only does he believe his family betrays him but also people on the outside too. In my opinion, it is not a good idea to forgive someone who hasn’t apologized for doing something wrong. Because when you forgive them, they might do it again and again and don’t know they were doing wrong. Also, people should always say sorry if they did something wrong, that was the basic manner of a person should have. For example, Philippines shoot one of Taiwan’s fisherman and not say sorry, Japan was killing whale in guilty.
