Communication is used to express, wants, needs, desires and is the best way is for seeking and providing information to gain those wants, needs, desires. Aii Describe two ways how effective communication can affect relationships in an adult social care setting between individuals using the service, their carers, colleagues and other practitioners. All effective communication is important as it helps to pass clear, concise, informative, accurate, factual information in order to decrease the possibility of mistakes and risks and error to the people I am working with. If a Service user told you they had brought a surprise birthday present for their mother and they needed staffs help to buy a card later in day and help with ingredients for a cake. If only half the information was handed over or card wasn’t brought this could affect the relationship between service user and staff. A staff member noticed a faulty chair and fails to report it, or fill out damage report, write it in message book or even verbally tell staff. This later causes a service user or staff member to have an accident. This could be seen as gross negligence on the staff failing to provide effective communication, creating distrust and unfair relationship between staff members.
