Election Essay The 2012 Presidential Election is one of the biggest days in the United States of America. There are many great candidates but the one receiving my vote is President Barack Obama. His leading opponent, Governor Mitt Romney, is very close in the race with President Obama; he is a very worthy candidate but his views do not reflect my own. President Obama supports and strives for higher education and making college affordable. He believes in making healthcare attainable to everyone, no matter what class. Obama also believes in making jobs better and equal to men for women. All this proves that President Obama is a great candidate for re-election because he is all for the uplifting of the United States and American society.…show more content…
President Obama has given 54,000,000 Americans coverage for preventive services free of cost; 32,500,000 Americans who will not have to pay co pays for many preventive services; 3,600,000 seniors who saved $2.1 billion on prescribed drugs; 3,100,000 more young adults that have health insurance under their parents plan and 50,000 uninsured people with pre-existing conditions have gained coverage. President Obama’s health wants to get rid of Obama’s health care which would up costs. He also just wants to give insurance or healthcare to people who already had existing coverage. In an interview with MTV, President Obama stated when asked a question on female equality when working said that since he had two daughters, he is encouraging better work conditions and equality for women. He is now working on reforms for women such as leave time for pregnancy and equal pay rates for women in the same job as men. This will help build a better economy, and give more people jobs.
