Introduction
      Emotional development is what comes with maturity. As a newborn child, emotions tend to be very new. As a child grows with age, the emotional perspectives of the individual develop slowly and eventually they are completed as a child matures. Emotional development is influenced by many factors including the environment and the experiences of life. Such experiences are essential, making it possible for people to handle and deal with everyday life experiences. Development starts in early childhood and continues through to adulthood. In this paper, the emotional development in childhood will be discussed in details.
Emotional Development in Early Childhood
      Emotional development begins during early childhood, between the ages of 2 and 5. This development in children includes both emotional and social development. From infants to adults, children are constantly adapting and learning about the environment and the world surrounding them (Maggi & Irwin, 2008). As a result, they begin to understand how to co-exist with others and the world. It is very early on when the child develops a certain personality depending on the type of upbringing and environment provided.
      Children do develop differently depending on their genetic makeup and environment, parents and guardians can play a huge role to ensure that the child grows up to be an emotionally mature individual. Proper encouragement, emotional support, and guidance are essential to make sure the child develops as morally and emotionally upright individual (Aviles & Anderson, 2006).
