What is a monotheistic religion? A monotheistic religion is the belief in one god There is 3 main monotheistic religions Islam, Christianity and Judaism. Today I am going to be talking about only one of the monotheistic religions Islam and comparing it to one of the polytheistic religions Hinduism I will be talking about all the differences between Islam and Hinduism. In Islam god transcends beyond the limits of space, time and gender. Revelation god revealed his will and law to humanity through the Quran.
Lailaha illa l-Lahu, Shahada, is the set statement generally recited in Arabic, professing monotheism and accepting Muhammad as God’s messenger. because there isn’t no god but God and that Muhammad is the prophet of
He doth regulate all affairs, explaining the signs in detail, which ye may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord”. Islam and Christianity take a monotheistic (belief in one GOD) approach when it comes to religion. Muslims recognize Allah as the Creator and Christians recognize GOD as the Creator. Both religions believe that human beings have the ability (free will) to choose between good and evil. Another eye opener for me is that Muslims believe that Jesus Christ was born to the Virgin Mary and at the end of the world, Jesus Christ will come again.
For this reason the Quran is the same across the entire Muslim world because any change would be considered to make it imperfect. Thus we can assume that any use of Shari’a law using the Quran must be divinely inspired. The second source is the Sunnah and Hadith; these are the actions of Muhammed as a Prophet and the
‘There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his prophet’, is the declaration of faith stated in the Shahada. The Shahada constitutes the first major requirement for being a Muslim and directly recognises the belief and understanding of Allah being the only God. To become a Muslim, one need only repeat the Shahada three times before witnesses. This proclamation deepens Muslim understanding of Tawhid, encountering three different parts to the belief. These three parts are, ‘Tawhid Ar-Ruboobiyah’, Allah is the creator of everything and controls and rules over everything, ‘Tawhid Asmaa wa Sifaat’, Allah has the best names and qualities.
In Islam, all individuals are created in the likeness of Allah, thus all humans are depicted to be equal (Husain, 2002). In contrast, Hinduism believes in a multifaceted concept of God, where God is categorized as monism, henotheism, monotheism or polytheism. Hindus tend to worship one God, but under different forms. With many deities, Hinduism believes the creator of the world to be Brahma, while Vishnu is regarded as the preserver of the universe. Shiva, the most highly regarded God is believed to be the destroyer.
The four other pillars include, fasting (Saum), prayer (Salat), and pilgrimage (Hajj), alms-giving or charity (Zakat), Shahada is a declaration that is made by followers of the Islamic faith, which says, “there is no true God except Allah,” and also says that, “Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Christianity and other religions whose bible teaches that God is part of the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit); Islamic faith teaches that Allah is the one and only God. Muslims also firmly believe that Muhammad is Allah’s greatest prophet, and it is important that those who practice the Islamic acknowledge and recognize him as such. They also believe that Allah used Muhammad to convey the last and final revelation (Slick, 1995-2010). The second pillar, Salat (Prayer), is a prayer that consists of confessions of sins and concluding with purification of the soul.
It originated from an Indian subcontinent and is often referred to as Santana Dharma; which is a Sanskrit phrase meaning “the eternal path” or the “eternal law.” Islam is a monotheistic religion, meaning that they worship only one deity or god known as Allah; and originated from the teachings of Muhammad. Islam and Hinduism, both having many followers, are quite different when it comes to worship and rituals within the religions. Islam was founded by the prophet Muhammad and Hinduism is a group of religious traditions. The largest group of followers of the Islam faith are known as Muslims, “one who submits to god.” There are five pillars of faith that they must follow: Shahada, Salat, Saum, Zakat and Hajj. Shahada is the daily recitation and worship of the
In Hebrew, the word that traditionally translates as prophet is נְבִיא (navi), which means "spokesperson". This forms the second of the three letters of TaNaKh, derived from Torah, Nevi'im, Ketuvim. The meaning of navi is depicted in Deuteronomy 18:18, God said, "I will put my words in his mouth and he will speak to them all that I command him." Thus, the navi was thought to be the "mouth" of God. Prophets were in a sense, men of God as they were believed to be inspired of God.
For the Muhsin, he will definitely do good deeds as he is obeying the command from Allah as if he is seeing Allah and be seen by Allah. Ehsan or tasawwuf, thus represents the highest level of faith. One is perfect in his faith or not according to the measure with which he is blessed with this wealth. The example of Ehsan or tasawwuf can be seen from the dialogue of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W and the Archangel Gabriel. The manner in which the term Ehsan occurs in it after iman and islam testified to the truth of the assertion that Ehsan marks the ultimate stage in the evolution on
