Respect is a huge and beneficial thing that people need to have today, and within the past twenty years it seems that the respect from the younger generation. Many parents seem to spoil their children more than what they used to. Parents don’t just spoil their children with material things, but children are also spoiled in ways of how to treat others. Children do not seem to have the need to treat strangers with respect. Younger generation are completely revolved around themselves and seem to take in no consideration for others.
The nation’s new economy “high advanced technology” is proving a mix bag for workers. It also has ushered in a long period of unprecedented national prosperity. Even though this generation might be losing some ability to focus for long periods of time, technology is helping us adapt to the ever-changing world. There are people who believe that this generation is the dumbest, but others would disagree. Some would argue that times have changed, as have the ways of research and learning. This generation might not know the same things as their grandparents, but that is because they are taught different occurrences in history, then back when their grandparents and parents were in school. Furthermore, many people honestly believe that the technology isn’t making us stupid, but it is making that generation smarter and more capable of understanding the world around them.
A People’s History of the United States: Reflection Chapter 13 The Socialist Challenge This chapter gives a summary of the ideas and actions of the people in the early twentieth century. During this period in history, America was big on expanding and getting bigger and better. Great artists and writers produced some of their greatest works, and giant factories could put thousands of laborers to work at a time. Yet from the commoner’s point of view, life was not getting enhanced. As conditions of the common peoples’ lives worsened, ideas and beliefs came into play that had never been big before.
Why? She explains: “Man has been the dominant sex since, well, the dawn of mankind. But for the first time in human history, that is changing—and with shocking speed. Cultural and economic changes always reinforce each other. And the global economy is evolving in a way that is eroding the historical preference for male children, worldwide.” Rosin’s article is well documented and forceful in argument.
Diversity is a very proud term representing the United States as a melting pot containing many different races in a country. But recently, due to a new technology called hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking”, new estimates of accessible natural gas reserves have increased dramatically. Used throughout the United States and worldwide, this process has profitably unlocked Trillions (emphasis added) of cubic feet of natural gas here at home in just the past few years. Concern about this new technology spans the political divide.
Presidential Debate The first presidential debate was held last week at the University of Denver, Colorado. There were high expectations not only for the magnitude of the event but also because the candidates running for president this time are facing perhaps the biggest challenges that the country has faced in a very long time; economic growth keeps slowing down, the unemployment rate is very high, and the fiscal cliff remains latent. This debate focused its attention on the economy proposals of the candidates. President Obama and his counterpart Mitt Romney, exposed their plans to recover the economy of the country; both of them addressed the importance of adding more jobs to the economy, reducing public spending, fostering the creation
America: falling apart at the hinges, literally. America has had the leading transportation, electrical, and sewer systems in the world for decades. But with economic poverty and an aging system burdening us. Along with a growing, more demanding population. What will America do?
America is currently dealing with many issues that are not going to be resolved overnight. Our failing economy is near the top of the President's to-do list. Another task that should be on that list is the ongoing problem of illegal immigration. Our country has long since its founding been filled in from coast to coast with people of all races. At the time when our country was still growing, immigrants that added to our population were accepted for economic reasons.
