In the case study, Wolf Peak was a company that was growing from a small business using Quickbooks to a mid-sized company that needed a more sophisticated accounting system. They initially purchased and implemented an industry specific software (the case study did not indicate what this software was), but Wolf Peak found that the software was probably geared more toward a large company and was too complex for them. After careful consideration, they decided to scrap the previous software and try SAP Business One, an enterprise resource planning software that includes accounting as well as other business functions designed for the small to medium sized business. Description and details of the software SAP was started in 1972 by five former IBM systems engineers (Marketline, 2012). In 2002, SAP acquired TopManage, an Israeli management and accounting specialist company (Marketline, 2012) and used their enterprise resource planning (ERP) software to develop SAP Business One. SAP Business One is a company-wide solution that small to medium sized entities can use to provide a clear picture of their overall business.
