There have been many individuals throughout history that have had ideas that changed societies and even changed the world. Certain circumstances drove these people to come up with or change these ideas. Mohandas Gandhi and Mother Teresa are two of these individuals. These two people’s ideas and actions on these ideas have changed their societies greatly. Mohandas Gandhi was an individual who lived in British India. Gandhi wamted to help India gain independence from Great Britan. He believed in resistance to tyranny through mass civil disobedience, based on total nonviolence. This idea helped India to gain independence, and inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world. Mother Teresa was a charity worker in India and also a nun. She founded Missionaries of charity in India. For 45 years she was looking after the poor, sick, orphaned and dying it was a pretty depressing job. She found homes and gave them to sick and needed people. She was a great help to the Indian society. She helped the poor to be strong. It was Mother Teresa who said "I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples." These two indivduals have changed society in which many ways can makes us learn from them. Mother Teresa was a kind/caring woman who helped the poor and the sick etc. out. Monhannas Gandhi was a man trying to makes own rights and did what he believed was right to do. Together they have affected many socities and contries
