Comparing Freire and Brickman Monica Jackson Ashford University Comparing Freire and Brickman Paulo Freire and William Brickman made significant contributions in the field of education. This paper serves to highlight the similarities and differences of these brilliant educators. Further, the resistance that both educators encountered, and how their accomplishments impacted the discipline of education will be identified. On the other hand, Brickman had only been exposed to poverty. Another difference that existed between Freire and Brickman was the former grew up in a foreign country and the latter, stateside. And though Freire lived in Brazil, his views were rather limited when compared to those of Brickman who was infused with an expansive worldview as a result of the culturally and linguistically, diverse neighborhood he lived in. Freire and Brickman were exceptional scholars in their own right. Each was influenced by environmental factors that impacted to their accomplishments. And while there are some conceptual differences between the two, one simply cannot ignore the wonderful contributions that have a similar, positive affect in the field of education.
