He emphasized heavily on the importance of unity between the states, the significance of the Constitution, the Checks and Balances System, and amendments. He mentioned about the implication of religion, education, and morality that exist in the newly settled nation. Lastly, he proposed the Proclamation of Neutrality of 1793 (Doc A). This proclamation was serving as a principle to have an effective legacy of the country. George Washington stated that they should deal with “sincerity and good faith adopt and pursue a conduct friendly and impartial [to Britain].” He may have stated this for he was the first to be the role model of the future presidents, therefore he would want to leave a legacy that will effectively put American in the positive direction.

At the time, the states feared a strong central government, for this reason, the Continental Congress tried to give the states as much independence as possible.
Thomas Jefferson published the Declaration of Independence between the time of June 11 and June 28 in 1776. The purpose for this is something to live by. To not only know the freedom rights but to understand the liberty through out the draft. When Jefferson wrote this, he wrote that men should have equal rights. 60). The Constitution of the United States of America also known as the bill of rights, establishes ones liberty. “The Bill of Rights was originally designed to limit the powers of the new national government” (pg. 80). Rebecca Rupley April 19, 2012 “No courts. No justice. No freedom.” The United States’ government is a constitutional democracy. This means that the nation is subjugated under the will of its people, so long as it is in accordance with the U.S. Constitution. In a more concrete understanding, the Constitution of the United States includes those “unalienable rights” initially granted to each citizen in the Declaration of Independence (1776).
Task 1 for AGT1 The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson in 1776 for the purpose of establishing America as an independent nation and to explain the reasons why the colonies were declaring their independence. In it, he states that governments were to be put in place by the governed to uphold the unalienable rights of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”. If the government failed or was destructive to this cause, the governed not only had the right to remove the current government and establish a new one, but a moral duty to do so. Because of the treatment of the colonists, Jefferson saw it necessary to the success of the people that this document be written. Some of the most recognizable and debated statements are found in the Declaration.
America has forever been known as the land of the free and home of the brave (National Anthem). A right that has been around since 1787, stated in the Constitution is the right to bear arms (archives.gov). People have diverging opinions when it comes to Americans and their gun rights. The Constitution written in 1787 was the first to declare Americans right to bear arms.
Daniele Posch Voice of Democracy Speech November 4, 2012 APUSH The Relevance of the Constitution in Modern Society It was once stated by Henry Clay that, “The Constitution of the United States was made not merely for the generation that then existed, but for posterity- unlimited, undefined, endless, perpetual posterity.” The Constitution was created to govern America for eternity. People in America value the Constitution and believe in its legitimacy. Also, the Constitution frames our country until this day. No one would be able to create a better document for America. Our Constitution is still very relevant; considering, since the year of 1781, all still abide by this ratified document.
The Framers of the Constitution wanted America to be free and they wanted a government that was ran by the people and for the people. The years leading up to the American Revolution the colonist saw the king and Parliament of England put their hands in colonial business, specifically when it came to dealing with taxes. All of the states wanted to ensure that the same thing did not happen with the new government. Hence the 10th Amendment was written into the Bill of Rights. President Adams passed the Aliens and Sedition Act in 1798, shortly thereafter Kentucky passed a resolution that declared, “This commonwealth does upon the most deliberate reconsideration declare, that the said alien and sedition laws, are in their opinion, palpable violations of the said constitution; and however cheerfully it may be disposed to surrender its opinion to a majority of its sister states in matters of ordinary or doubtful policy; yet, in momentous regulations like the present, which so vitally wound the best rights of the citizen, it would consider a silent acquiescence as highly criminal: That although this commonwealth as a party to the federal compact; will bow to the laws of the Union, yet it does at the same time declare, that it will not now, nor ever hereafter, cease to oppose in a constitutional manner, every
The Declaration of Independence was written in 1776 by some of the greatest minds of the 18th century. The Declaration of Independence is applicable today because it is a timeless declaration of rights of citizens that continues to stand the test of time in democratic societies. The Declaration of Independence was based upon timeless documents and proven ideals that came before it. Perhaps, the most prominent document is the Magna Carta, which provided restrictions upon the English government in 1215, by making the King abide by his laws and rights for the citizens of the country. The Magna Carta declared that people’s rights are unable to be taken away by any government, because their rights are given to them by a higher power; God.
