He is now 57 years old and has won 12 Primetime Emmy Awards, Groening grew up in Portland, and attended Ainsworth Elementary School Groening attended The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, a liberal arts school. At the age of 23 years he moved to Los Angeles and become a writer, and had few jobs that he called “a series of lousy jobs” in which he became an extra in a few series. Groening had his first professional work on a magazine in 1978 the comic was named Life in Hell.
