Does technology make us more alone? Technology actually helps us effectively work as well as connects us. We can keep in touch with friends every time thanks to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. While social networking is a great tool, there is a profound difference between an online social network and a real one. Recent studies have found that despite being more connected than ever, more people feel more alone than ever. However, in fact, it can be clearly seen that the advantages of technology outweigh the disadvantages in many ways such as enhancing relationship with others and keeping memorable moments. Nowadays, people can enhance their relationships with everybody around the world. In the past, people get in touch with others by writing letters, and this process took a long time to receive and reply to the letters sent by their partners. But now, due to the advancement of technology, people can communicate immediately by cell phones and internet. For example, when you are studying abroad, you can make video call with your parents by Skype or send emails instead of sending letters. You not only hear your parents’ voice but also see them and everything in your house. Moreovere, it is claimed that people also share their feelings with friends and update status of friends even they are not close to each other through some social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, Google Plus, Yahoo, etc. If you are really disappointed with your grade, update this on your social network, you can receive a lot of advice and encouragements from your friends. You can feel their affection and care although your friends do not sit beside you. And conversely, you can also know others’ status and help them if there are any difficulties.
