Positive: recreation, a place to bring your dog, a safe environment. Negative: not as much money is gained, not as much housing, won’t have recourses for a new school. 9. How could the town government counteract the negative externalities? (3
The author states that commuting with public transit has more benefits than driving a car each day to school. Our VTA system offers a convenient and cost-effective solution for SJSU students. I strongly agree with Lester Detroit, because taking the bus to the school could decrease many
I chose to attend Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC) for a number of reasons, and here are my seven main reasons. The first reason is that it is far less expensive to go to SWCC than a regular university. Another reason is SWCC has a smaller campus than a lot of other universities. Additionally, it offers smaller classes, more personal attention, and greater student/teacher interaction. The fourth reason is SWCC’s plentiful automobile parking.
Many people believe that because of cats’ independent nature, they should be allowed to roam free. This allows them to satisfy their hunting instincts and to function within cat society, one that has its own rules and structure. Some people assert that free-roaming cats are happier cats, living a life closer to that intended by Nature. This is all true, but it is not compatible with modern life in suburban North America. Roaming cats are susceptible to attack by other animals, to trapping by angry neighbours, and most of all, to traffic accidents.

(Neuman,2005)The environmental aspects of urban consolidation is quite different with in developing the form of urban sprawl. In high density areas, there is only a few natural vegetations, which include trees and grasslands and etc, are found within the buildings, roads, and parking areas. So it makes harder for the inner suburb to have a cleaner environment without planting large amount of vegetations. To sum up, it has both problems and benefits by developing the urban consolidation but the advantages of consolidation is more convincing , making th consolidation form as a more sustainable and livable plan

It altered the basic philosphy of policing and stated that the police should work closely with the community instead of being an inward-looking community (Walker & Katz, Chapter 1, Community Policing, 2011). The Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy was established to help in the prevention and to decrease the crime rate in the community and to work closely with the residents. According to Innes (2006)There were findings indicate that people living in the CAPS prototype districts had significantly higher levels of satisfaction with police fighting crime than people living in matched comparison areas who were not subject to the CAPS program. The findings also indicate that the residents of the CAPS prototype communities were only marginally more satisfied with police keeping order than those living in non-CAPS communities (Lombardo, Olson, & Staton, 2010). their analysis demonstrates that did not have uniform effects across all sections of Chicago’s population.

According to the Webster’s Dictionary, home is defined as “Ones dwelling place or residence”. In our society today it is not uncommon for public parks to be the dwelling place or residence for homeless individuals. Public parks are normally viewed as public land used for recreation, however many homeless people refer to public parks as home. There are many issues involving the combination of public parks and homelessness, in fact those issues are just as prevalent today as they were in the past. The history of parks notes, Central Park in New York City as being the first landscaped public park in the United States.
