Satire Essay: No More Have you ever been disturbed by the uncomfortable nagging of a toddler banging on your chair at a movie? How about that time when you were sitting down at a gourmet restaurant to enjoy a meal with your wife and an infant in the booth next to you will not stop screaming and throwing his food. Today is the day that this nonsense comes to an end. Beating our children gives ourselves the opportunity to get that upper hand back and instill in children that we still have the upper hand. There are many different methods of which I have found very productive and I would like to take the time to inform you of some today.
In 1983, I was traveling with a tiny theater company doing vaudeville-type shows in community centers and bars—anywhere we could earn $25 each plus enough gas money to get to the next small town in our ramshackle yellow bus. As we passed through Bozeman, Montana, in early February, a heavy snow slowed us down. The radio crackled warnings about black ice and poor visibility, so we opted to impose on friends who were doing a production of Fiddler on the Roof at Montana State University. See a show, hit a few bars, sleep on a sofa: This is as close to prudence as it gets when you’re an itinerant 20-something troubadour. After the show, well-wishers and stagehands milled behind the curtain.
One last note, researchers have found that most food advertising during children’s television programs is for junk food such as sweet/salty snacks, soft drinks, candy, and presweetened cereals. The fast food industry uses different gimmicks to lure children to its restaurants such as the free toys in the kid meals, and even the family friendly playground area located inside and outside in many fast food restaurants. According to the Board of Pediatrics, children as old as 7 or 8 are unable to understand the nature of advertising. Developmentally, they cannot identify the underlying persuasive intent. Lastly, the really unfortunate thing is that a lot of parents are unaware of the advertisements the children are exposed to.
We rode so many tall rides, fast rides, and because Katy is only 10, we rode small rides. Bethany and I went off on our own until lunch. I convinced her to go on some of the smaller roller coasters. At lunch we all met up and had lunch at Joe Cool Cafe; it was very colorful inside. After lunch I met up with my cousin Alan and three of his friends, so I could ride the big

Mexican Movies In the short story, "Mexican Movies", the narrator goes over how their strong united family spends a typical Saturday night at the movie theater watching Mexican movies, such as Pedro Infante movies. Papa sends her out to lobby when an adult scene comes up. The narrator explains how she looks out for her little brother Kiki by making sure he doesn't eat candy off the floor. They have fun at lobby of the theater by running up and down aisles, and also by throwing popcorn up in the air and trying to catch it with their mouths. At the end of a typical Saturday night according to the narrator, "Mama and Papa lift us out of the backseat and carry us upstairs to the third-floor front where we live, take off our shoes and clothes, and cover us, so when wake up, it's Sunday already, and we're in our beds and happy".
After breakfast we went to the dock and caught a boat to The Magic Kingdom. There was so much to do in one day. We saw many Disney characters, such as, Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and my favorite, Cinderella. We ate and drank so many good treats, but the first on my boyfriend’s to-do list was a turkey leg. It was delicious.
