The Zapatista " Astateless Nation Fighting for it's rights and sovienighrty" The zapatistas are known as the EZLN stands for Ejército Zapatista de Liberación (Zapatista Army of National Liberation). The zapatistas are group if people live in Chiapas which is a state located in southwestern of mexico bordered by Guatemala and Pacific Ocean. The people live in Chiapas are mostly poor farmers and indigenous Mayan .The chiapas considered to be the 2nd poorest state in mexico andmost of the population is Mayan most of the people living in Chapas donot speak Spanish in a country that's considered a Spanish speaking country. Although, The zapatistas group started around 1980 and didn't gain attention until jan of 1994 , their roots of conflict to gain sovinigrty was present for over 500 years ago. the zapatistas movement / rebellion may seem recent as their uprising in late of the 20th century but Historically the indigenous people in Mexico were struggling for over 500 years back to the time of European invasions…show more content…
the Zapatistas movement offers inspiration for millions because of Their struggle had won the support of many others around the world. on the other hand some people considered the zapatistas rebellion as the new type of warfare another people understood the violence as product of cultural diferences others condidred it to cultural barbarism but most of all this rebellion was the product of the bad condition the indeginous people were facing such as losing their lands and proverty. Their movement showed the world of the importance of the government to recognize the needs of the minor
