The Wizard Of Oz “One learns that without struggle and hardship, without the perilous journey itself, one could never have been able to discover his or her true self, his/her true home”. In the “Wizard of Oz” Dorothy believes her quest in to get back to Kansas. She is yet to see the journey of self-discovery that lies ahead for her and the friends she meets along the way. Every encounter Dorothy has on her way down the yellow brick road helps to uncover a little piece of what her heart desires. Dorothy takes an adventure down the yellow brick road on her way to Emerald City to meet the great and powerful Oz. On her way she meets a scarecrow who thinks he doesn’t have a brain, but uses his brain along the journey to Oz. The Tin Man who thinks he has no heart but he shows signs of friendship and love and a cowardly lion who thinks he has no courage but shows courage time after time…show more content…
She learns the anything truly important is worth overcoming many obstacles to achieve, like the field of flowers that made you very sleepy and stealing the broom from the wicked witch. She learned that weak and helpless people can defeat evil, if they work together. She learned this from the lion that was not very brave but became brave when it came to working together with the tin man and scarecrow to save Dorothy from the wicked witch’s castle. She learned that we limit ourselves, like the tine man, scarecrow and lion who swore they did not poses any of the gifts they seeked out for. Those are many of the other lessons Dorothy learned throughout this strange yet unforgettable journey through Oz. Dorothy and her three friends discovery many new things about themselves and life as they reach the end of their journey.
