Chapter 4: Wisdom Chronicles Kolbi B. Senegal Southern University According to Humphrey (2009), Wisdom Chronicles are collections of writings by clients for the benefit of other clients experiencing similar problems. Wisdom Chronicles also benefit the clients who write these letters by reinforcing their personal stories and influence over their difficulties and honoring their stories. Clients who read these documents receive understanding from the people who have experienced the same or similar problems and encouragement for their personal journey. The main purpose of this strategy is based on creating an audience. This strategy is also adaptable to the unique needs of clients and can also be incorporated into theoretical approaches, other than narrative therapy (Humphrey, 2009). Wisdoms letters are not helpful in the early stages of therapy mainly because the client has not made any progress and change yet. Wisdom letters can be collected in archive that’s made available to clients.
