Scanlan also made sure there was notification of his findings posted throughout the mine in order for all to be informed of the danger of the mine. Scanlan was sure to report all of his findings to the Department of Mining and Minerals. The decision to not shut down the mine in order to demand the safety measures be remedied has proven to be a hard lesson learned. This is mainly because it will always be questioned “what if” these measures were done, would the lives of 111 coal miners be saved. Scanlan as public administrator may have used the media and public radio stations to inform the public of the possibility of the explosion and this may have forced the owners and authorities to take action sooner than they decided to take action.
Why would Lord Vader, one of the highest ranking members of the Imperial Government, suddenly decide to fly away from the Death Star in the middle of a battle? Did he know something that the rest of the Imperial Navy didn’t? In the video of the Death Star’s destruction, Lord Vader clearly exclaims “I have you now” then fires two shots. Those shots never impact anywhere. Were they merely added to the official video after the event to make it appear that Lord Vader had at least attempted to fight off his alleged
Identify and explain at least two examples of irrational beliefs that Bryce holds. Beliefs can be maintained by intrapersonal cognitive structures, sometimes based on particular uncommon occurrences. Bryce does not believe in himself. Believing in yourself is all about being sure that you are going to do whatever you want even if others were against you. Usually, when you decide to take a big challenge or to do something that people failed to do you will find that everyone is putting you down.
Pilots turned down American's last and final contract offer, with a 61 percent of those that voted. According to A.P.A.’s former president, ratifying the tentative agreement would have been the best course for the pilot members, for the pilots could face stricter terms should the judge overseeing American's bankruptcy allow the airline to end its current contract with the union. Union organizers claim this decision by the pilots shows they have not forgotten that several years ago, with bankruptcy looming for the airline, all employee groups chose to sacrifice pay and benefits to keep American Airlines solvent. While other airlines, pursuing traditional methods, filed for
What is reason behind it? What we do what we do? What motivates us? Many people would rather not think about this. Some people might not care about true behind everything that we consider as “normal”.
It is the leadership’s responsibility for setting a high standard for the sailors. Training should constantly be conducted to remind us of the adverse effects that complacency brings to the working environment. Also, when moral values are questioned, and a sailor makes a consciously bad decision, the individual should be made an example out of. Sailors need to be reminded that the nuclear Navy cannot afford to put trust in those who do not have the moral courage to adhere to the standards that are set before them. An honest mistake is forgivable.
The X-O, very emotionally, pleads with his followers that if they do not discover the information on the fragment, they will take unnecessary military action. These crew members aid the executive officer in his mutiny to prevent later regretting the possibility of commencing an unauthorized nuclear war. Later in the film, the audience discovers the fragment did in fact cancel their previous orders, so the crew members are satisfied with their decision. However,

With that in mind, The bombing of Hiroshima was an acceleration of the war already under way and was used with the prospects of the unconditional surrender of the forces of the Empire of Japan, The U.S wanted the war over and if they were not going to surrender they had no other choice but to use forceful actions. Another way people supported the fact that there were no human rights violate was that People believed that bombing was righted considering that the Japanese had attacked Pearl Harbor. By doing this it was a way of revenge, if the attack on Pearl Harbor didn’t happen then the U.S wouldn’t have gotten involved.
Very few people could have foreseen the consequences of the president’s proposition to declare a “war on terror”. The horrifying events of September 11th, which left the country with a sudden sense of unimaginable danger, will always be etched in the minds of all Americans. The attacks led to the urging of strong and immediate action to be taken and with little opposition a sense of unity came about within our country. Nearly nine years later, the horror of Bush's order to an unrestricted "war on terror" is more obvious. With a total commitment to confront the terrorists, the Bill of Rights has been thrown out the window.
