In the first article by Paul Waldman about the case for banning guns the author tries to connect with some gun owners by saying that he understands how they feel about one of their most prized possessions being taken from them because he too has a hobby that he enjoys just as they enjoy hunting. In the second article by Shiha Dalmia the author states that banning guns won’t stop people from getting them illegally and continuing to harm people. The real question here is who is wrong and who is right? The answer is no one. Everyone has their own opinion and way of seeing a situation. In this article there might be opinions of mine that not everyone will agree with. The first article talks about banning guns. The author talks about how he wouldn’t want to ban guns, but at least make more strict restrictions on them and at least get them out of private hands. We have seen the case for not banning guns where the author tells us how taking guns away from the people will not stop the other majority of mass killings and we have also seen the point of view from the author of banning guns where the author says that he necessarily states that he doesn’t want to just ban guns, but limit who we give the guns to. Now that both sides have been shown and talked about I have gotten a better understanding on which side is in my preference and that would be for banning guns. I don’t want to sound like I hate guns, but I do love my country and the ground I stand on, and I would hate to see it crash because a few people are too ignorant to accept that we need limitations to protect the ones we
