A social network is an online community where people create personal profiles, search for and stay connected to friends. Examples are Facebook, Myspace, Cyworld, Bebo etc. They are considered addictive, especially towards young people. Firstly, social networks are so popular because they give people a chance to connect, even if they’re on the other side of the Earth. All they do is just message or chat, which is much more convenient for us. While in the olden days, they have to have real life interactions. Now with social networks, you can create friendships and develop interests. Secondly, social network is like a place to relax for the young people. They don’t need to care about how they look because no one is going to be able to see them. They can just lie back and relax, play games, chat, read posts etc. But they tend to forget to do stuff when they go online, social networks because they are just really into it and forget about the more important stuff. Nowadays who still uses a diary? The social networking system is perfecting for recording your daily life without the hassle of pen and paper. Typing seems a more appealing and easier task than writing. A simple click and we could access our records. What we saw, what we liked, who we talked to, the list goes on. In conclusion, social networks are convenient for keeping in touch and keeping a record of your life while we live our busy everyday lives but we need to limit how much we use it so we have a clear idea of where the line between reality and the virtual world
