Creon should not continue as king because he is not a very good leader, he is too stubborn and proud, believes in different laws and gods as his people. For instance, Creon was not a great leader that Thebes deserved. A good leader is someone who considers the impact of what he says and does on others. Creon makes all of his decisions on his own and would not admit that he is wrong. Creon wants the people to obey him and respect him, but he has not given them a reason to.
Unity or independence was very important to the colonists before the Revolutionary War because they didn’t have the rights we do today. Colonists couldn’t trade with the world, weren’t protected of their rights, imposed taxes, and a lot more. The king of the colonies had treated them with a lot of disrespect. He had not given them any freedom whatsoever, and had just made them follow his unjust rules and law. Although they knew the consequences or punishments for doing so, the colonists had found ways to smuggle.
For centuries, there has been controversy to whether Columbus Day should or should not be celebrated. Personally, I feel that our town should not celebrate Columbus Day. Christopher Columbus was many things; an explorer, an adventurist, a risk-taker, etc. But, many people argue that he really didn’t add anything new to European knowledge or the knowledge of the world at the time. In addition to that, Christopher Columbus was uncaring and cruel.
When Victor's creation was made he says, "'When I looked around I saw and heard of none like me. Was I, the, a monster, a blot upon the earth from which all men fled and whom all men disowned?'" (105). It would not have taken much to help his creation but since he was afraid of causing problems he ended up causing a bigger
The FBI and The Bureau of Tobacco and Fire Arms failed to recognize the nature of millenarian beliefs because David Koresh viewed his delusions as reality of life. I think that the government didn’t think the beliefs are real because the beliefs were bizarre. Also, another reason the government didn’t take the Davidians serious because they were in cult. The ATF contributed that this event was a lot of troubles that caused a lot of people to die for a good purpose. Likewise in the First Amendment people want the government to take religious beliefs very serious in order to not cause another epidemic from happening
Injustice is basically when somebody has been wronged and when adding collector is when somebody has been wronged many times over their life. Society in my opinion cannot protect themselves against these types of people because we have no way of knowing who they are. For all we know our teachers or best friend could be just like Cho, but we will never know until they lash out. The only possible way would to mandate a law requiring everybody to never wrong anybody in the world, which as we all know could not be
However, very little literature addresses the predicament of solders who had to endure the dangers of the battle field with most of them scantily understanding the reason for the bloodshed. The war was particularly fuelled by a battle of supremacy in ideologies and the ambition of certain political leaders to impose their ideologies on certain nations. The situation that had emanated to a full blown world war had begun much earlier characterized by mutual suspicion, regional alliances, conspiracy and espionage. Heller attempts to bring out the sufferings that the soldiers who were forced to shoot each other just because politicians had passed legislations requiring them to do so. In Chapter One of the novel Yossarian outlines how he was forced to love the hospital because it gave him momentary peace away from the harsh conditions of the battle field.
This war was also considered inconvenient at that time. Also it corrupted almost every soldier’s mental state; because their families have claimed they have never been the same since. The current Iraq war follows similar guidelines. President Bush started the same problem with our soldiers but instead of it being the swamplands he invaded the desert lands of Iraq. Also he brought the idea of terrorism which is not worth fighting for.
94. Romney v. United States fought against this ruling and eventually realized that they could not win this battle which lead to the renouncing of polygamy. While I agree that all beliefs are not right as in the book which states “Thugs of India imagined that their belief in the right of assassination was a religious belief; but their thinking so did not make it so.Yes it does not make it right because they believe in polygamy but it’s very hard to take away something someone belief started from, is based on and ask them to still believe in the same way as the founders who beliefs they are carrying out. In today’s time Mormons still exist and each year missionaries go out to countries to convince people to transform to their beliefs. In the end I believe we can’t take away the Mormons main beliefs from them and we shouldn’t punish them for doing it as long as they it in their own society.
Personal relations and bonding have been replaced by this artificial drug. John “the savage”, who has been raised outside of the confinement of the Hatchery, has an extremely different view of things than those raised in the captivity and has a difficult time trying to inform and convince the others of their society’s foibles. There is a lacking of art and creativity that John perceives as fatal to their humanity. This causes great confusion in John’s mind because he doesn’t understand or agree with the principles that the others have been conformed
