Why Are People so Different?

Planet Earth is made up of a variety of people. There are over five billion humans that call this planet their home, and they haven't always gotten along with each other. Differences in the way people think has caused a multitude of problems, suffering and death. If there is a one true God, as many people believe, or many gods as other people believe, why did this God or gods put humans on Earth that began killing each other and causing all kinds of evil to exist on planet Earth? I can't answer these questions, because I have a hard time believing in the interpretations of any of the thousands of confusing beliefs about the existence of any kind of god or gods. I'm not an anthropologist or psychologist, maybe an amateur anthropologist or psychologist, so it is difficult for me to to know why people on Earth are so different. From the earliest of times, people have been fighting about something. Some men have set themselves up as self proclaimed rulers and have subjected other people to their reign of terror. Humans have been struggling from the earliest of times to find some sort of peace and harmony. From the earliest of times, people have been ignorant as to how to have a peaceful world that is not full of suffering and cruelty. Way back in time, people have been seperated from each other through tribes, nation states, ethnicicity, color, and other things. Each group of people thought it was their right to fight other groups that were different. There were ruthless rulers that went on rampages to subjegate other peoples and bring them into their fold and force them to renounce their beliefs. The history of the human race has been far from being pretty.
