I have seen a lot of morals that were shown in the film but I would like to emphasize three of them. First of all, commitment was shown within the members of the team and also the coach. As shown in the film, there were a lot of schools or universities that were offering the coach the job to coach for their team but he refused even if the offer is great. This is because he made a commitment to his team and there was a bond created which they consider each other as brothers or not just a team but a family. Second, their cooperation as a team was emphasized. At the last part of the movie wherein they were playing against a strong team, And lastly, their closeness to God was shown. Every game that they play they always include Him in their prayers. They put all their strength out and remember that they are playing for the glory of Him. Their winning tradition has taught them that you gain what you plant; if you work hard, good things will come. It even emphasizes that point with Luke 6:38, “Give, and it will be given to you…for with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." The coaches had an idea that he needs to reach boys when they start, not when they fall off the rails into criminal behavior. The movie shows the team praying before games which was part of the fabric of the life of the team. Coach Bob also instilled to them that “Faith is an integral part of me. I can’t turn it on and off.” It helped gained the moral of the team on not giving up and just giving it all up to Him. With the ups and the downs that were shown in the movie, there is no way that we can’t learn something from this. Great concepts about
