No words could possibly describe the feelings that were going through me Freshmon Year. Leaving the Cleveland Heights/ University Heights School District for a year in Eighth Grade, I wasen't sure what to expect coming back. Apart of me was full of excitement, realizing I finally will be able to see my friends that I left behind. Knowing, I wouldn't be alone with the comment “ new kid in school”. However, fear was seeping through me as the hours of walking to the building came nearer.
My ninth grade was pretty cool until the last week of school I let my mouth get the best of me and said some things that I really should’ve not said and because I did I earned the next semester at the alternative school. When school started back I was very sad because I had to go to the “bad” school with all the “bad” kids and I was very nervous. Once I got there it was pretty cool and I really enjoyed it because the classes were smaller and you got more one on one help. My grades went up and my mom decided that I should spend the rest of the year there, which really messed me up because they did not offer any elective classes only the basics . My eleventh grade year was also a disaster because of the struggle of passing my biology state test and I was really distracted and just wanted to go back to the alternative school but my mom and the principle would not send me back.
Capitan Mark Kelly Ever since I was a young girl I have always had great dreams and high expectations for myself. Anytime I was asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I would quickly reply” a lawyer” As the years went by I still had that goal in mind, but I began to realize that I was not exactly Ivy League material. Though I did work really hard in my classes, I was still at best average. During my junior year I took my SAT’s, and cried when I got my scores back. For many years I was scared to go to college because I thought I wasn’t college material.
I never thought that I would be the teenager in high school who had to grow up a lot faster than the rest of my friends and fellow classmates. I had many dreams and goals I wanted to accomplish while being a teenager, but when I found out that I was expecting a baby my junior year in high school my dreams and goals were put on pause. I graduated high school my junior year. It was exactly one month before I had my wonderful son. My son Kaleb was born May 24 2008, and from that moment on I wanted to give him everything he deserves.
Jimmy didn’t want to be there no longer and kept on running away until his Aunt Charlotte signed him over to a detention center because no one wanted to take him and care for him. He registered and went to high school and eventually dropped out because he didn’t feel accepted in the type of environment. He got into a relationship with a young girl name Teresa. That was his first love and it was a very dysfunctional relationship. He had left to San Diego to start a new life and meet Marcos, His best friend, and Lonnie.
Similar to Sedaris’ situation, I have also experienced disappointment when commitments were suddenly shattered and I have been forced to cope with the irreparable change in my relationship with an unreliable person. Liz Gomez English 101 Mr. Tafarella 3/9/11 On Monday of last week I woke up with the biggest headache ever and believe me I was not ready to go to class but I really didn’t want to miss the video that Mr. Tafarella was going to show us, so I got up, got ready and decided I had nothing to lose and I went to class. My mother at time was out most of the night and not able to get me up and ready early in the morning. When I finished the sixth grade( which I shouldn’t of) I asked my grandparents if I could live with them. They were more then thrilled to have me. I then moved to Murray, Kentucky where I finished grade school, middle school and graduated from Murray High School.
