Playing college football is a privilege, not a business. Players should be playing for the love of the game and not the money. Also many college players already have a free ride through out their four years of college or until they decide to go pro because they are already receive many things from the school and it’s not fair to other athletes who play a different sport who don’t get paid as well because they work hard for their sport just like college football players do. College football for players isn’t a business. Being able to play college football for a school is a privilege.
A lot of the teams like the system because sometimes if they didn't have a very good chance of winning the actually National Championship title. Like one athletic director said “'qualifying status was a priority for our football program'”(Whitt, p.1) because that was the goal for every team so they thought they had a chance in being chosen to play in the game even if it was pure luck. Also one of the biggest arguments that the against used is that they need to protect the bowl games. One guy said that '”a playoff system would destroy the traditional pageantry of the bowl games”'( Herald, p. 1) that it will ruin all that the bowl games stand for that they cant put the playoffs around the bowl games. Football is its own sport in many was one being its unique championship.
However, there is one huge difference between the players in the National Football League (NFL) and the players in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Players in the NFL make a lot of money for their performance, while players in the NCAA never see a dime for fueling a multi-billion dollar industry. Players are sent to schools not to advance their education and obtain that increasingly important degree, but to play football. Graduation rates are quite low on many of these teams because the message players take to heart is that if they work hard on the football field, eventually they can make it playing professional ball and become a millionaire. Money drives the desire for so many of the players to play at higher levels.
I realize that not everyone will be your best friend, but if I spend time obsessing over it and begin to hate them, it will just bring down my own life. Although if I love them, or like them I will go on not worrying about all the hate and live happier. I am trying to incorporate some of the life lessons from each of the three books into my own life, so I can allow myself more personal fulfillments and cease the opportunity at an unbelievable life. Feeling fulfillment in life can allow someone to feel happy and realize what they have been working hard for will come in the
Although an addict may feel as if they are freed from stress through their addiction, what isn’t taken into account is the amount of time before this stress returns. First, the addiction starts to change to morals and values of the addict, making it difficult to overcome their addiction. “The truth is, while a lack of morals is not to blame for our addictions, addictions are to blame for our compromise in morals” (How Addiction Effect our Morals, 2013). Meaning, addicts aren’t necessarily valueless. The addict has morals to begin with, but become so lost in the happiness their addiction provides them they begin to value their morals less.
We all have people we don’t like but we probably didn’t give them enough time. “’If you wait long enough people will surprise and impress you.”’ (155). There’s more people than we realize in our lives that can help us, just give them more time to show themselves. We shouldn’t worry that much about what people think about us because we should be happy with ourselves and it wastes our time. “If nobody ever worried about what was in other people’s heads, we’d all be 33% more effective in our lives and our jobs.” (141).
Selfishness can cause people to do greedy things, and often we let it consume us. Step back and think to yourself, am I this kind of person? Remember, you can only encourage and push someone so far, until it becomes more for your benefit than theirs. Doodle's older brother yearned for a playmate that was capable of being able to run, jump, and climb. When he found out that Doodle might possibly never do any of these things he "began to make plans
Some people who are feeling inadequate then see that person and begin to think they can never possibly be that thus giving up on that “thing”. Competition is there to improve us and if you don’t think that you can do a trait better then the next guy, success is obsolete. Competition is the only way for success in our society. Competition brings some kind of success to everyone in some aspect. We have to compete in school, physical activity, and the social realm to keep improving our world.
To wait for something so great like starting a family is well worth the wait after you’ve been successful and done all that you’ve wanted to do and more. Everyone only has one life, some are lucky to get second chances, but it is only those that live life to the fullest are the ones who have really experienced. A text composed of a hidden message, which is a quite obvious one, is a great way to attract an audience into this appeal of emotions towards the experience of doing great things with one’s life. My text applies to audiences everywhere. It would be too
I learned horrible things about him, and started to help him out. It should've made me feel good, but with my anxiety, he just made me so scared. I couldn't lose him, and I was afraid I'd wake up and he'd be gone. Then the unthinkable happened. One of my friends passed away from a brain aneurysm.
