I want to be successful but I also won’t to be able to work for my success instead of some one handing it to me. I would like to be able to say not only did I do something for myself, but I helped out or made a difference in some one else’s life or maybe even a community. My potential should be used for the better, to making something greater then what it is. All it takes is one person to make a difference imagine if multiple people had the motivation to do more then for them selves. My goal in life is to make a difference and to more for the better then for the worse, because you never know what life will have in store for you.
With this frame of mind, they lack the motivation to do better and succeed. ), Collectivism (The w/c value being part of a group. This may hold them back as they will take the group’s decision on something, which may be to not attend school, not revise etc. ), Immediate gratification vs. deferred gratification (The w/c believe in IG where they want the reward straight away. This can affect their education as they will not want to stay on in further education, as they can get a job and make money straight away.
PROBLEN SOLVING and DECISION MAKING Making a choice between a specific behavior that I would change would be a rather easy decision. The first behavior that I will seriously work on is procrastination. This behavior falls under the managerial skills of problem solving and decision making. Procrastination is a habit of needlessly putting off relevant activities until another day or time. Procrastination is a behavior that I really need to change.
My belief is to have a aim in life, and work towards it, whether it be a aim in life to work towards, whether it be higher qualifications to better my job prospects or working towards bettering my career path, each is a great belief for me to acheive as this will be beneficial to my children and improve my way of life. While my Values and Beliefs are important to me I appreciate that not everyone values the same qualities. While it has not been an issue in my current position I could say that I may have less empathy or patience for people who are more work shy or don't work to my standard. It is important that i dont allow my beliefs and values to place a strain on my relationships with both colleauges and service users. Working in the Health sector, you are most likely to come accross people with views you dont agree with and some people wont understand your point of view.
We were all somehow exposed to different backgrounds, as well as lifestyles. Therefore, it’s safe to say that the statement “Is College for Everyone” doesn’t imply to certain people who were raised to think otherwise. However, Pharinet seems to think that most kids should consider not going to college at all. Pharinet went on to explain how most students will find themselves working full-time jobs to help pay the expenses of college, in result their grades begins to drop. Then the student decides to drop to a part-time worker, register for less class hours to find more time to work on improving their grades.
Many affiliations involve customized degree programs target specific industries or functions that are important to the company. Some academic affiliations include a reduced tuition cost for employees of a company at a certain college. By earning a degree at a selected academic provider the employee receive a discount on tuition, therefore making their tuition money last longer. (Rodriguez) Many gifted employees constantly want to master and advance, if they feel they are not mastering and advancing, they are not remaining ambitious with their peers for promotional opportunities and career growth. Once top employees feel that they are no longer mastering, they begin to look elsewhere for a new job opportunity.
That is my main function within the group, to facilitate the day-to-day actions of the other members. If something needs to get done, I assign a member that task and then follow up until completion. The only draw back so far is my aggressive attitude towards mission accomplishment has caused some of the other members to recent my approach. I do not always ask for things in a nice way, I think being direct is the quickest way to get something completed. The biggest affect that it has on the group is slowing down the amount of work that was getting completed.
My schedule doesn’t allow for a lot of give, so everything I do is with purpose and on time. I forget that not everyone has the same regimen and need to be so time conscience. I am also not good at adapting to change, which is a critical skill I need to work on. In being with the same company for so long, we have seen our fair share of change, and I do eventually come around, but I think I could do it faster and better if I were more flexible and adaptive when I first become aware of changes on the way. Sometimes we learn of change the day of, via email, and it definitely throws me for a loop.
In a sense, I am this marble, writing my paper according to outside factors and doing what I am told to do. However, where I and other humans differ from the marble is that I can choose the topic I want to write about. I also am doing this because I want to succeed and the decision is mine: I can work hard or I can do nothing with my life and regret it later
If so, why? I believe that most managers probably use punishment when they feel trapped or pressured from people above themselves. Ultimately, punishment is used as a means of coercing someone into doing something they otherwise are not doing. With any sort of punishment, the offender must be convinced that the consequences of the punishment outweigh the benefit of continuing to do business as usual. If the offender feels as if it is more beneficial to continue to slack off because of the work required to put forth an effort, the punishment will be useless.
