The decision to recall the trailers would be best for the Company and for society as a whole. When adding the pros and cons of doing nothing about this new found manufacturing flaws in the trailers, the cons out weighs the pros. With out a recall the company will see a 12,000,000-dollar increase in insurance premiums alone, with the loss of business and legal fees the business can potentially go under. The effects on society are even greater. With an estimated risk of 22 deaths that has the potential affected hundreds of people in society.
I am looking forward to implementing all of your valuable suggestions. Thank you once again for showing me how one can be an exemplary employee and an excellent colleague. I consider you not only a colleague, but a valuable mentor and friend. Sincerely, [Your Name Westpac to charge interest on interest Date March 23, 2010 Westpac is under fire after informing credit card customers it will apply interest to their interest charges and fees. The move has since been labelled "sneaky" by a consumer group and Treasurer Wayne Swan has labelled Westpac "a serial offender".
The failure of the Taris project was inevitable. The novel Juno of Taris by Fleur Beale demonstrates that an inquisitive individual living in such an enclosed, domed society is bound to get them to start asking questions. When the Tarian civilization is run by five stubborn, close minded people who insist on keeping secrets from their people, a rebellion is certain to rise when all the hidden truths are spoken. Technology is a major reason Taris functions but when communication with the outside world is refused and technology is not updated, it causes their world to malfunction. People are born with a curious nature to want to know everything.
Wills’ claims that the federal government's chief law enforcement official might need a refresher course on federal law pertaining to legal immigrants. Some American legislators have taken up the position that prohibiting bilingual ballots would be racist. However, evidence shows that millions of other American citizens feel that prohibiting the bilingual ballot is a step in the right direction. Wills’ begins his article with a political anecdote quoted by Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. When he was asked whether he would favor the prohibition of the bilingual ballot, he simply stated, “Of course not.” Wills’ continues in the next section stating that our national identity and our federal laws are being weakened by immigration that is influenced by these bilingual ballots.
The government may choose to keep it out of the news papers but private companies and individuals have the power to save lives. Which would be the right decision in this case but they lie and kill to protect their incomes. They are greedy and this choice and be considered wrong. Morality is low. Now Acshenbach knows and he has the power to alert others of the immediate danger.
The policy was first endorsed after former president Bill Clinton had unsuccessfully tried to overturn a current ban on gay military members. The justification for the ban of gay service members were “that the known presence of gay men and lesbians would undermine morale and unit cohesion”, according to the New York Times article and was continually supported by President Bush during both his presidential terms. However, supporters of the law are now facing immense opposition in contrast to 18 years prior, when the law was first passed. In fact, in 2006 a poll conducted by Zogby International of 545 Iraq and Afghanistan veterans concluded that about three quarters were comfortable around gay service members; a big contrast prior years. Opponents of the law argue that to
The raise for Sue Morphet was very unethical, damaging Pacific Brands’ reputation. However, “The chairman of Pacific Brands, James McKenzie, denies the company was giving pay rises to executives at the same time as it plotted to cut 1800 staff. He says the company's executives are benchmarked against its competitors.” Hall Asley, Pacific Brands says salaries not obscene, ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation in 2009). Viewed 22 March 2013, < http://www.abc.net.au/news/2009-02-27/pacific-brands-says-salaries-not-obscene/1604396> Well, maybe the pay rises were not given at the same time, but the decision to cut 1850 jobs was not taken overnight, and it was taken due to the need for cost cutting. It is unethical to give pay rises of up to 170% when you need to cut costs.
In the recent election Tony Abbot became Prime minister, this is by far the most blatant example of people being blind to the past and regressing due to unwillingness to see. In 1982 the White Australia Policy was abolished, the intention was that Australia would be a country anyone of any nationality could call home, now we have asylum seekers trying to land on our shores, a prime minister determined to turn them back at any cost and a majority of the population who elected him, how is this showing progress and lowering levels of racism? It’s not just those who are trying to gain access, it’s the people already here who still feel segregated. Randa Abdel-Fattah wrote a short story titled “Of Middle Eastern Appearance” that was published in the anthology “True Blue”, it is an account of her life in Australia and the difficulties she faced being someone with a Middle Eastern background. She recounts how she was once asked by a teenage girl “Do you ever wish you were fully Aussie… like Anglo?” this is a view shared by far too many and the fact that it was asked at a school highlights the acceptance of it amongst the public almost to the point of encouragement.
Illegal Aliens; A National Epidemic It's at the detriment of not only the safety of Americans, but also the governmental funding that illegal immigrants exist within our country. Since they do not take the necessary procedures to indoctrinate themselves within our culture and gain citizenship, they enjoy all the benefits while suffering none of the penalties. With the economic freedom and opportunity America presents, Illegal Immigrants, whether intentional or not, steal jobs from legal citizens. This contributes to the fact 25 million less-educated Americans are jobless while seven million Illegal Aliens are not. It is also crucial to note that in so coming to our country by illegal means, they are breaking the law.
This saved the company millions, but if they had a better plan in place, this issue would have never resulted. Boeing was also sued for alleged violation of the federal securities laws in 1997 as a class action suit. “The plaintiffs alleged that Boeing had intentionally suppressed information about its manufacturing problems, which would have adversely affected the share price of the company during the first and second quarter of 1997, when merger talks with McDonnell Douglass were in progress” (Unknown, 2004, p. 3). This was definitely a lapse in
