WEARING UNIFORMS – SHOULD OR SHOULD NOT? By Barteczko Pham Cuong – 10I1 In most countries in the World, schools are required students to wear uniforms. Do you like uniforms? I guess some students don’t. They think uniforms are not fashionable so they shouldn’t wear it. However, there are three main reasons why students need to wear uniforms; social status, save time and economy, improve student safety, put the focus on learning and how did they lost their individuality. School uniforms should be required in all schools. First of all, school uniforms level social status, save economy and time. Low economy status families don’t have to be embarrassed if they can’t afford the latest clothing style. They tease at someone when they wear something that are more expensive and looks better. That’s why students are embarrassed about their appearance, they don’t want to communicate with other people. However, if we all wear the same clothes with the same style, then everyone will be equal. No one can judge because they also have the same clothes as you, even it’s beautiful or not. As well as the style, the price is the same, too. They won’t be embarrassed about their families. They can buy the uniforms just like others else, so they are all in the same level. Furthermore, uniforms are often cheaper than most clothes. Even if it’s not cheaper, wearing uniforms might save you a lot in another ways. There are five school days in a week, so you need to buy at least five pairs of t-shirts (shirts) and pants (shorts). By the way, if we wear uniforms five days a week, we could use only two. Casual clothes are different, but uniforms are all the same. People notice at you when you wear a t-shirt twice a week. So you need to change every day and try to remember what you wore the day before. However, uniforms are all the same, so people won’t know what you wore the day before.
