The presence of such a low socioeconomic level in these neighborhoods causes a significant increase in daily struggles for families and children. These struggles could possible affect work production in the education environment for these children and with such a brutal and gruesome cycle, it may be very challenging or even impossible for some children to just, “get out of poverty” as professor Mead might suggest. To put another factor into the
The reason why rhythm and rhyming is the best theme in We Real Cool is because the poem is upbeat and full of music. The speaker talks about being really cool and also leaving school which are the first two stanzas. The speaker is trying to show the reader that these pool players have an unruly attitude and is happy about being delinquents and trying to be cool. Throughout most of the poem, the speaker says “We”, when she says this, she is referring to the pool players as “We” because they want to be defined by their disobedient acts. When the speaker says in line 2 “We left school,” she is saying that these young men are dropouts or they are at the pool room when they are supposed to be at school.
Throughout my life I have had many ethical dilemmas I have had to encounter with, however, some easier than others. One of the worst one’s I have come to encounter with was at the age of thirteen. Not being taken care of as a child was hard, but I knew it was for understandable reasons, yet I was always taken care of people who have loved me, and that I do appreciate. I was always taken care of in Rosemead, and in one of the worst parts of it. There were always gun shots here and there, theft, and rape.
When I came to City Honors, the curriculum was a lot harder so my grades began to get lower, and my parents didn’t approve of this. They did not understand that at City Honors, their work is different then other schools and the low grades were common amongst a lot of kids that were new to the school. So I would have to study hard and get extra help for my grades to go up and when they did my parents began to commend me on my work. Also, my mother loves to wear dresses and girly clothes but, I on the other hand, love to wear jeans and a tee-shirt. She is never happy when I get a new pair of sneakers with an outfit to match, but I have a fetish for new sneakers!
“(These) values pass on mother-to-mother combine with the natural instincts to love, support and nurture.” If a person was raised spending most of the time on the things that were being bad influence for them such as wrestling or teen’s reality show or their parents were too busy working and did not have enough time to check if they were keeping up with the homework and reading. It is pretty obvious that the child is going to have a great amount of difficulty as they grow up. I agree that raising children is not an easy job but if I was raised in a very bad way and thought my parents did not put enough effort in my upbringing I would not want my children to think the same about me and go through the same rough path of life as I did. Childhood is what makes a child’s base and it is important to pay close attention to their childhood and teach them the difference between good and bad. So, when they grow up they will not have any problem in picking the right path.
That was a big step being independent on my own not being with my parents all the time. I had to things for myself, but if had question about anything to just ask them. My parent’s life experiences helped and accumulated wisdom preparing me to meet the requirements of life in society. Peer groups in society today have a lot of violence, drugs, and other bad things. My high school I graduated from Washington Marion High School has changed in many
Teen Violence Teen violence is an increasing thing in our world. There are many reasons why this happens; for example to prove how tough you are, gangs, living in a bad area, race, the media, and students retaliating because of bullying. Each reason may play a different role in a teen’s life. Teen violence will always be a part of regular teen life because of the people we have to look up to and the situations we put ourselves in. I went to school in Brooklyn at Automotive High School.
Since we were children then, I had communication problems with few of them and making new friends was probably the toughest task for me as we didn’t shared common interests. Yet, I knew I had to go through this transition as they were the significant moments that would put me in new situations involving uncertainty and requiring new knowledge. Being in a boarding school with such diverse students, I gradually learnt teamwork and mutual respect. As time went by, I learnt from those whose experiences, beliefs, and perspectives were different from my own. These weren’t the only benefits.
Few people know that I am really shy 9. One thing I really dislike about myself is my impatience 10. When I share my values with someone I hope they accept me for who I am I feel like I engaged in the right amount of self-disclosure because my responses are short and simple but have a lot of meaning as well. The things that prevent me from engaging in self-disclosure is the judgment of that others will have of me. Sometimes I find it difficult to be self-disclosing because I dont like to be in uncomfortable situations.
Problems are part of life regardless how good a person seems to be in society. The issue with school is all the work gets overwhelming for some students. Teachers don't think about some students don't understand the work as well as others. Everyone has their strengths in subjects and others have their weakness. As a student it feels like no matter how much effort it is not enough to succeed in an education.
