Water is a Right, Not a Commodity It is said that 71.11% of the Earth is covered with water, and the other 28.89% is land. If more than half of the Earth is water, then everyone should have the right to have as much water as needed. Without water, it is impossible to survive and no one should be able to expropriate it for profit because not everyone, especially third world countries can afford it. Selling water is exactly the same as selling air and it's something that should not be done. Water should be a right because: it is a fundamental in life and health and it is needed in everyone's everday life for hydration and hygienic purposes; making water a commodity will make third world countries even more poor and will increase death rates even more; making an easy access for water will give more opportunities for females and children in third world countries to have a normal life. Water is very much needed in every person's everyday life. It is needed in hydration, hygenic purposes and more. A human's body contains 75% water. Blood contains 70%, bone contains 22%, and body fat contains 10%. When food enters a body, it is immediately exposed to saliva and when enters the stomach and intestine, the food is mixed with a watery compound that is responsible for digesting. The human's blood, which is made up of up to three litres of water also help transfer substances such as hormones, antibodies and more. When water enters a body, it regulates body temperature and helps distribute and control heat. Water contains minerals such as zinc, sodium, calcium, fluoride and copper that are all needed for a human to function. It is clear that without water in a human being's body, it is impossible to survive. Water is very important in every person's hygiene.
