Since there are so many police they are scared to stop for gas. The family knows that they should have already run the car’s gas tank dry, but somehow they are able to keep driving. Once they finally find a safe place to stop for gas, it happens to be Roxanna’s house and they get snowed in for days.

This is how it really works; you're walking to school in the grey gloomy morning having to put up with the horrific acrid smell which burns the back of your throat because self-centred people these days can't consider the cluster of kids who have to walk past their shop every day. I do not care if it is free, but I do not want your second hand smoke! The stench is revolting; having it following me everywhere I go. Why do people have the need to smoke?
This is where the dealer plates come in handy. We tend to drive the vehicles for a few days to make sure they are good to go. With the repossession business, we sometimes will have to drive the car back to the lot because our truck is full, or that people have asked us not to show up in their yard with our flatbed. So we will show up in a regular vehicle, slap a dealer plate on their vehicle and drive away. Or other times people think they are smart because they decided they want their plates.
During what is referred to as rush hour, at times I wanted to just scream at the ignorance of people; that lane will not go any faster than the one you were in. Although there is public transportation, it doesn’t seem to help the congestion on the freeways. When I lived in the country, rush hour was considered several tractors in a caravan making their way to the next field. And yet, it was not uncommon to wait for a family of ducks to cross the road. My view of separate worlds collided as I parked my car at the faith mission homeless shelter and came to view that the life I call normal would be a luxury to the lives I would be serving. Not even wanting to spend more than an hour at this place, I slam the door to my mother’s 40,000 dollar car. I did not want to bring in my phone or wallet because I did not trust these people whom I have not met. My arrogant and “I am better than everyone here” stench smelled worse than the men standing out front smoking a cigarette. This place was filthy and I questioned why I was spending any allotted amount of time here.
