Marie Noel English 120 Prof Lavi 12/3/12 Title: The story about prejudging In this society, prejudice which is an unjustified attitude towards an individual based on a social group has been a major problem in the United States. Throughout history, the act of prejudice has caused a lot of death and mistreatment on many social groups. A great example of prejudice is World War II concerning the Jews. During the reign of Adolf Hitler, the Jews were being mistreated and murdered out of pure hatred. According to the Holocaust Encyclopedia approximately six million Jews were killed. (Ellis 396) Because of his struggles he decided to allow negative thoughts to take over which caused him to hate black people. This goes back to what Parillo stated; people begin to become hostile when they see a threat which causes them to become insecure. Nevertheless, he had no real reason to really hate black people. The problem became clear, black people were beginning to receive rights while the white race was not receiving. As stated in the text, “So the natural person to hate would be the black person. He’s beginnin to come up he’s beginnin to learn to read and start votin’ and run for political office. Here are white people who are supposed to be superior to them and we’re shut out.
