I can learn about information that is trying to be taught by using hands-on problem-solving. I am improving my ability to be become a thinker by finding time to reflect independently on new information and looking for opportunities to work independently. I try to be sensitive to individuals’ feelings by giving positive feedback. I present constructive criticism in a way that I hope others would not take offense to. Knowing others strengths in an online learning environment helps me understand how they think.
They are identified in a person but aren’t really the person’s number one choice. The preferred strategies are the strategies that help the person learn and cope to their needs. Identified strategies are there and also help but the person would prefer the other strategies over them. As discussed earlier, kinesthetic strategies embody actively engaging into the lesson. On the contrary, aural study strategies engage “attending classes, discussions, and tutorials, discussing topics with others and teachers, and using a tape recorder.” People who are good listeners and learn better by hearing have aural strategies.
To learn how to operate a new camera the author would first read the instructions, then view the diagrams while locating and operating the various features. As the author is an avid reader she enjoys learning by reading, and prefers text book learning to lectures. The author assesses the situation and applies the best mode or modes to fit the situation. The author reviewed the study sheets for read/write, visual and kinesthetic learning. The author found several tips for note taking for read/write that would be beneficial such as rewriting notes into outline form or lists, rereading notes, and organizing lists into multiple choice questions for studying.
Unit one also taught me to reevaluate how important certain priorities when it came to writing. I learned from the other unit one authors, Joseph M. Williams and James E. Porter, that when an essay is read by someone who is looking for grammatical error or plagiarism instead of content, they will often find the error and ignore the content. Although I do still know the importance of grammar and originality, this class and the grading style has let me put those constructs in the back seat until the editing process, instead of making them something I had to constantly worry about. I don’t believe that good writing revolves around grammar, but rather how well your words can convey a message to the intended audiences.

When I came across anything I thought was relevant in the textbooks I stuck post-it notes around my desk stating briefly what it was and where I found it. Deciding which points to use in my essay was difficult and did result in a considerable amount of deleting and re entering information. Using the textbook I found ir easier to read the conclusion at the end of the chapter first, followed by the summaries at the end of each unit and leaving the beginning til last. This gives me a better understanding of what concepts im covering. I am still finding the referencing process quite difficult but I am hoping this will get easier as the course
According to my instructor, Denise Finney, cheating causes one to miss learning valuable information. (Finney, 2014) By performing my own research, I will learn about various topics in my field of study. When I complete my own assignments, I display what I have learned and am allowed the opportunity for valuable feedback. When I write my own papers, I am conveying my ideas. When I cite properly, I give credit to the author or source for information I use to support my ideas.
I enjoy that I was able to learn how to comprehend the words that I was brought upon and use them to my advantage.As I got better understanding English I seem to be amired by books that keep me amazed by the knowledge that I learn from what I have read. I remember when I was in Elementary school going to the Library and sitting in the look book pit reading one of my favorate childhood author Judy B. Blume.Reading is just one of my hobbies, however in my spare time I write songs and sing them to have a piece of relax. Writing sokngs became a habit that I started when I be unease; However I still be amazed how reading keeps me learning
There are a few goals that I hope to achieve before leaving Manchester. The first one is to know more about my content, mainly the vocabulary and speaking skills. The vocabulary review games were as much as a review for the students as they were for me. Grant it, they were learning objects in the classroom, such as a pencil sharpener and a computer screen, which aren’t stressed too much in speaking. If I want to teach a topic, I should try to learn as much as I can about it and never stop learning Spanish, this is also one of my goals.
I would either type as though I am talking rather than using proper grammar; reviewing is a tool that I always have needed to utilize because of this. I always have needed to review what I am writing and reading to make sure that my information is conveyed correctly. | Wrap-up questions: How successful was the SQ3R process in helping you grasp the concepts in the section you selected?
