Leticia Downing August 31, 2012 COLL-148-6 1597 Professor: Daniel Lordess Using and Evaluating Your Guiding Statement: Journal Assignment Guiding Statement: Respect to me is a very important aspect to have in life. I first respect myself, others, and expect others to treat me with respect as well. Without commitment in life it’s hard to accomplish goals, live happy, etc. I commit myself to God, my family, and my goals in life. I also believe that to value Love is very important to my life. If you don’t love yourself, love what you’re doing; love your family, etc. It will make things a little harder for any person. HOW WILL YOUR GUIDING STATEMENT HELP… If you have a disagreement with you supervisor as work. I believe my guiding statement will definitely help me if I were to have a disagreement with my supervisor at work. First Respect will be very important when having a disagreement. Both parties should treat one with respect, to keep a common ground and eliminate conflict or chaos, especially in the work environment. If I am committed to my place of employment as much as my supervisor is committed, the disagreement would be easy to work out. However, in some cases both parties won’t come to and common agreement. Lastly if I love my job, I would definitely have a great attitude when talking over a disagreement with my supervisor. If your class paper or project receives a failing grade from your professor. My guiding statement will help me in this situation. Commitment is one of my values mentioned in my guiding statement. Commitment to my education is first and foremost. If I was to get failing grade I would first put my commitment to my education in play, contact my professor and let he/she know that I would like the opportunity to make up the assignment and work hard to get a better grade.
