Unit 6 Assignment: Service improvement in the health sector. 1.The national health service is committed to becoming more modern, more efficient and meeting expectations of the public, in order to achieve this the government has introduced initiatives such as the dignity strategy, and the care quality commission, all of which are the created through research of evaluation and analysis. The only way to establish if a business is working productively and efficiently is through evaluation this enables health providers to analyse in depth what it is they are doing well and what it is they need to improve upon. Once adequate data and information is received from the process of evaluation and analysis, it is then possible to identify the main factor affecting service provisions; from that action plans are devIced. Examples of factors that affect the provision of services are issues such as poor organisation. An example of this could be a ward which is not organising the staff efficiently, as there may be 3 physiotherapists yet inly 1 nurse, as well as the imbalance of staff the organisation of patients appointments may not be noted down in the diary, therefore transport would not have been booked by the ward which would delay the care a patient receives. The solution to the lack of organisation would be to firstly for the manager to plan in advance the wards rotas and ensure enough staff from both the therapy and nursing profession are booked in to work, also the need of a ward clerk is required as this frees clinical staff to provide care while the ward clerk books transports for patients appointments and keeps them filed in a…show more content…
Mrs C needed soap and paper towels, but the dispensers were both empty this demonstrates poor organisation as staff have not been maintain stock. This also causes risk of infection control, Mrs E was unable to wash her hands thoroughly and dry them therefore could spreads and receive infection. A solution to this problem and a way of improving Mrs Es experience would be to take regular stock takes of resources keeping up to date o what is running out and ordering an efficient amount. c.
