Answer sheet Question 1 a) Control panel provides you with access to a variety of tools that can be used for changing the hardware and software configuration of your system. Some examples of hardware control panels are Display, Keyboard, and Mouse settings. Software control panels include Date and Time, Power Options, Fonts, and Administrative Tools. By default, all tools of the panel are displayed under categories such as System and Security, User accounts and Family safety, Network and Internet and Appearance and Personalization. Many control panels are included as part of the Windows operating system, but others can be installed by third-party applications or utilities. For example, if you add a new mouse to your computer, it may come with a CD for installing a control panel specific for that mouse. Some graphics cards may also install an additional control panel that gives the user greater control over the computer's visual settings. Regardless of when control panels are installed, they can always be found within the Control Panel folder. Color depth is determined by the number of bits used to produce color in each pixel on a monitor display. The more bits used, the greater the number of colors that can be displayed, provided that a graphics card and monitor have the capability to display them. The default color depth in windows 7 is true color (32 bit). If your video card or a particular application does not support the 32 bit color depth, you can adjust the depth to a lower setting such as high color (16 bit) using the advanced settings link in the screen resolution
