The case originally went to trail when an employee by the name of Lilly Ledbetter sued her former employer, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., where she worked as a supervisor from 1979 to 1998. During that time frame, Ledbetter was denied raises during her yearly reviews. In March of 1998, Ledbetter submitted a questionnaire to the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission and then in June of 1998 filed a formal charge with the EEOC. Ledbetter claims that she was denied raises after yearly performance reviews because she was a woman. In November of 1998, Lilly Ledbetter retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and she filed a suit claiming sex discrimination under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Shelley, the author’s mother died 10 days after giving birth, which could influence her writing and decision to make Caroline die after child birth also. One of the main reasons feminism has lost supporters is that business have worked to over-power the image that represents feminists. Feminists are portrayed as bra burning, hairy-legged, man- hating, and lesbians. This image of a theory as caused women to back down from the fight, and that’s exactly what organizations against the theory want. Many women are against being feminist, they find the word unappealing. The stereotype attached to feminism isn't considered beautiful by our cultural standards and as a result, this stance becomes unappealing to women because the worst thing you can call a woman in our culture is ugly.

SUMMARY OF 3 SESSIONS WITH A SUPERVISEE INTRODUCTION This case study is related to a Bereavement Agency Volunteer who was my first supervisee whilst undertaking the Supervision course. I had 4 supervision sessions with her, but I will relate only to the first 3 sessions as a requirement of this case study. During our supervision sessions, she seemed to be concerned that the 3 clients she was seeing had all cancelled at least 2 appointments each giving either no notice, or very little notice. She was beginning to feel that maybe she was the cause of them not attending.

Adding the interview with the song, you can know that this song was for sure meant as a stab towards Joe Jonas.
