I have never thought of engineers as people wearing yellow helmets building big bridges or dams. For me, engineering is much more than that; it is a way of thinking, a way of solving problems that directly impacts the global scenario. Using what my mentors taught me, I have always tried to apply that not only in projects but for solving real life problems. Through the world class education programs and research opportunities offered by the University of British Columbia, I want to pursue a major in Engineering Physics so that I can fulfill my dream of using my knowledge of science and technology for the betterment of the society. This interdisciplinary program will combine my interests in technology, design and sciences providing me with a strong foundation in engineering which will further help turn my vision into reality. Oct 2012 – present, 4 hours per week. Throughout my schooling, I have served as secretary and president of various clubs and student body. Currently I am the President of Spring Dale Alpha Leo Club, which is a part of World's Largest Service Club Organization- Lions Club International. The club works in the field of environmental protection and social service by organizing rallies, campaigns and debates. * Dramatics Team. Oct 2009 – present, 10 hours per week.
