Overall, many things changed along the Silk Road from 200 B.C.E to 1450 C.E, but one thing remained constant: the purpose of the Silk Road. Materials and cultures are things that normally get changed over time and the Silk Road is a fine example of that. In the end, what was once a simple trading system grew to be a necessity to two great powers, Europe and

How significant was the work of reforming leaders in changing the nature of Russian government and society in the period from 1856-1964? Intentionalist historians such as Westwood, would say that the most significant factor for changing the nature of Russian government and society was the work of reforming leaders, such as Alexander II who carried out the Emancipation of the Serfs in 1861: “with the possible exception of Khrushchev, no other Russian ruler did so much to reduce the suffering of the Russian people”1. I agree with intentionalist’s views to an extent because reforming leaders did have a major impact in pushing reforms through however other factors of change must be considered. I also agree with a structuralist point of view, that the Russian people and key pressure groups like the Social Revolutionaries also played a significant part in changing the nature of Russian government and society. In addition, World War II introduced change through industrialisation, which was key to Russia’s success in the war.

Prisons go through a lot of hoops to receive funding and keep the facility running smoothly. There are standards that should be followed and much has changed as corrections have evolved over the years. This includes how facilities are run, the guidelines followed, and how prisons even come to exist. For more than 125 years, the American Correctional Association has championed the cause of corrections and correctional effectiveness ("American Correctional Association", n.d.). Founded in 1870 as the National Prison Association, ACA is the oldest association developed specifically for practitioners in the correctional profession ("American Correctional Association", n.d.).
Rimbaud The Drunken Boat Introduction Arthur Rimbaud was a french poet that lived in Paris during the second half of the nineteenth century. He is remembered for his writing of three major works: The Drunken Boat, Illuminations, and A Season in Hell. Of the three, The Drunken Boat is the most celebrated; it is filled with symbolic exaggerations and metaphorical clauses. In fact, his work was the poetic equivalent to the impressionist and symbolist movements that were developing in all branches of the arts at that time. Rimbaud has had a profound effect on many celebrated poets since his death in late 1891 after being diagnosed with cancer.
There are many individuals over the years that influenced the changes during 1856 – 1964, to create the more modernised Russia. Within these hundred years Russia went from a traditional autocratic monarchy, through a communist revolution and resulted in a dictatorship. Although the power shifted from one extreme to another, over this period important events occurred which enabled Russia to move forward and modernise to protect themselves against and compete with the western countries. Alexander II, who was also known as the Tsar Liberator made a vast amount of changes during the years 1855 – 81. Alexander entered his reign towards the end of the Crimean War, which started in 1854 and ended in 1856.

These ideas therefore influenced his future artistic productions and styles. Nevertheless Suprematism, Russian Constructivism and Dada would influence Moholy-Nagy’s personal style.
Corrections History Kenneth Watters Colorado Technical University American Corrections CJUS263-1502B-01 (Phase1 DB2) Professor Davis May 19, 2015 There is a lot of history that is involved in the corrections field, even prior to the 1700s. It can even be dated back to the 2nd century BC where records have found evidence at many Egyptian and Mesopotamian archeological sites that proved the existence of the earliest prisons in the world. We need to understand that prisons have always been around. If we are to understand today’s prisons / correction facilities, we need to at least have some understanding of the past and how they have evolved. In 600 BC the remains of the oldest known prison can be traced to Ancient Rome, it was originally
