For example, creating numerous amount of jobs and homes which are going to be occupied just for a certain period of time because the upcoming generation is not as massive as the baby boomers. The ageing population is going to impact Canada’s economy because of the increase in taxes, the numerous amount of money invested in the retiring baby boomers, and it would break our economy due to America’s suffering economy. First off, the economy would suffer massively due to the increase in the tax rates. When the baby boomers begin to retire the taxes would rise so the government can support their needs. Since the baby boomers would retire at such a late age, majority of them would not be so healthy.
This increases unity and makes the country more cohesive and hospitable, thus encouraging immigration” Immigration provides constant growth in the labour force which is helps the Canadian labour market Since most of the immigrants are skilled, Canada is able to heavily rely on them and employ them for the most important jobs throughout the labour market, consequently helping its economy grow. Immigration is responsible for two thirds of Canada's 5.4% growth. "Foreign skills accreditation in Canada has not kept pace with rising immigration levels. Given the importance of immigrants to our country's economy, Canada will need to do better," states Cohen. Irish were Canada's first of foreign immigrants.
When all humans want is more time, it seems stupid to harm their health by messing with what little time we all have left. By debilitating a person’s health, DST proves to be a handicap on society’s well-being. In addition Daylight Saving Time injures the environment by providing an extra hour of light, giving individuals more time to engage in recreational activities all while traveling by car. By traveling in cars more often increased gas is wasted and this “might not be offset by a corresponding decrease in the morning.” (Source C) Gas is a fossil fuel that not only damages the environment, but also costs consumers hundreds each month. Increased use of gas during a tight economic time can cripple individual’s bank accounts, therefore, once again, ascertaining DST to be a handicap on society.
Professional athletes make millions of dollars every year and it isn’t fair for those out on the streets that don’t make money close to a pro athlete. If all athletes would pay an amount of taxes for social needs it would not only help people such as the homeless but also it would improve society and the way it is looked at. For example, take downtown Hastings in Vancouver, there is a tremendous amount of homeless people all crowded in this one area making it look horrible and unsafe for people. If pro athletes distribute a small amount of taxes for social needs, there wouldn’t this type of problem. The money taxed would be used to pay for homes where the homeless could stay and live, rather than have them on the streets.
(Overview of economy). The Refugee Protection Act is a reasonably fair rule. This Act helps hundreds and thousands of refugees border over to Canada every year, but if Canada does not open its door to these poor people, they might as well be tortured or even persecuted at their own country because of religious believes or any other wrongful accused crimes. (Refugees) Canada is known for helping refugees and people in need of protection and assistance which was why The United Nations decided to reward Canada with the “Nansen Medal” for its generosity and humanitarian efforts. (Clark 198).
Most people ask the question “What about Using a Hands free Device?” Although it sounds like a good idea, because you are not using your hands to dial the phone or taking your eyes off the phone, it is just as dangerous as using your cell phone. A hands-free device is not easy to use; a driver who uses it could be even more distracted than by simply holding the phone. Cell phone conversations alone, without dialing or answering, change the way drivers see the world and make them more likely to miss traffic signs and other important information. Cell phone distraction causes 2,600 deaths and 330,000 injuries in the United States every year, according to the journal's publisher, the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. A psychology professor from the University of Utah said “If you put a 20-year-old driver behind the wheel with a cell phone, their reaction times are the same as a 70-year-old driver who is not using a cell phone.”
Furthermore these immigrants are taking whatever jobs they can find, and because of this they are doing some of the most undesired jobs in the nation. Some people would argue that the illegal immigrants are taking money from our economy, but this notion is also quickly put to rest, as these workers are putting there money right back into the economy as they buy cell phones, or parts for their cars, or any number of other goods. Because they purchase goods they help other businesses prosper and more jobs are created. Hence the non-legal immigrants are not a hindrance to our society but rather they help it. These people are close to the bottom of our society and yet they provide a crucial role.
If the company continues to loose billions of dollars year after year adjustments need to be made somewhere, so the concentration should be put in the plants that are successful and slow production in the lagging plants or just simply close down. Second I would choose to reduce the SUV and truck lines because of the high gas prices throughout the country simply because the smaller cars would be more gas efficient, more cost efficient, and a lot of money being lost through the lack of being able to sell the expensive SUV’s which also doubles in cost to fill up and drive on a daily basis. Most Americans are buying the smaller cars because of the recession or the public opinion that we are in a recession. Third, would be to go ahead and sell the premium automobile group to somebody that would be able to make use and profit off of the lack of sales year after year. Cars like Jaguar and especially Aston Martins which are one of the most expensive cars in the world, don’t really sell on a large scale in the US except for the wealthy percentage of the population, so selling the premium automobile group should be a good business decision especially since the PAG group doesn’t fit the way Ford intended their business to be operated.
Having such a network will help the community in numerous ways, as well as with helping with those that cannot afford to drive or maintain a vehicle. The city of Houston, as well as the surrounding cities, should improve their current public transportation system to make it more accessible to the people that need it and would profit from it the most, particularly those working for minimum wage. The city of Houston has shown tremendous growth over the past twenty years. It has spread very far, very fast. The public transportation system did not keep up with the explosion of growth and is sorely outdated; the majority of the city is living outside the boundaries of the Sam Houston Beltway, while the majority of Metro’s network is within the boundary of the Sam Houston Beltway.
However, working adults can use the benefits of the medical insurance, which will give them an opportunity for a decent medical service and reduce the general taxation burden. The issue of health care throughout the years has been a major issue in the society in the United States and it is one of the most important aspects of an election campaign of any political party. One issue concerning healthcare is that it is very expensive and more than 52 million people do not have any coverage or they have less adequate coverage. In addition, it is very important for people to have coverage for general healthcare maintenance and just in case, something drastic occurs, in their life. A well-organized, efficient health care system is not that easy to provide and one of the key problems on the way to the ideal hospitals and medical help is proper funding.
