The conservative party are very much split into two different types of people with different views even though this wouldn’t be what they would exactly say. There are ‘new right’ views then there are ‘traditional’ views. New right politicians would say that people should work for everything they need and nothing should be given for free. On the other hand traditional politicians would say otherwise. Their belief is that people should be helped with necessities therefore they offer these to the public. They offered this through many schemes which will be talked about throughout. When it comes to certain policies such as the health service, the conservatives are one nation. They have the belief that the health service funds shouldn’t be cut. It is obvious that they are one nation otherwise the health service wouldn’t be a public service but would in fact be a private sector for which the public would have to pay for. This is the new right view. However in this moment in time the health service is public which means if you are a British citizen you are in title too free NHS and means the conservative sector have a traditional view for that policy. Unlike other public sectors such as the police force their funding wasn’t cut this is because in my opinion the health service is more important. The health service is fundamental for the public, without the health service the majority of the public wouldn’t be able to be healthy and pro long their lifetime. With the health service many people are impacted positively every day. As well as helping the public it also helps the conservatives as they get votes from the older generation because the older generation need hospitals because as they grow old they need the health service much more.
