Soon she knows that the rats recognized her husband, and that they all used to be animals of laboratory together. The rats have the same opinion to support Mrs. Frisby and a companionship begins. But then, the farmer determines to call an exterminator (Charlotte, 1998). At the moment, what will they do? This is not only a book about mice, rats, and life on a farm, but Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH also discovers the ideas of companionship, devotion, overcoming difficulty, and fearlessness.
It also told when and how the first infected rats traveled with the bacteria and fleas. This book was one of my best sources. Churchill, Winston. The birth of Britain. New York: DODD, MEAD & Company, 1961.
The origin of the Black Death is not definitively known. One accepted answer is that a bacillus that lived in fleas’ stomachs transferred the disease. Fleas would infest rats, and the rats would transfer the disease. Rats were able to reproduce very quickly, which made it so easy for the plague to spread. Rats would tag along on ships, on which they would have bales of hay and saddlebags.
Helen Szazy Mr. Stettes English 101 April 24th, 2009 The TNR project Stray and feral cats are a serious problem in the United States. They can be found wherever there is a good food source for them, such as alleys and abandoned buildings. The TNR project was created because past methods of trying to solve this problem were not very successful. TNR stands for trap-neuter-release. The cats are humanly trapped, then taken to the veterinarians, or wherever the event is taking place.

An example of him trying to cure this disease is in his laboratory he has multiple rats that he is working on, he always has a human trying to be cured, and he has pictures of all of all the zombies that did not make it through testing. II. Symbolic Archetype For the symbolic Archetype of I am Legend I chose lightness vs. darkness. Today I performed an excavation of Leo Hall room 220 which is home to a girl named Amanda who I’ve met a couple of times and who I feel like I may have a better understanding of now. When I entered the room I found a lot of artifacts that would allow me to make educated assumptions about the people living there. Two of the most obvious artifacts are a rat cage as well as a mouse cage. There was a rat in one cage and two mice in the other. However, even if I hadn’t discovered the animals I could have easily come to the conclusion that they had or have pets judging on the nibbled holes in the comforter as well as the rat food that I found on the floor.
Rodents played a large roll in spreading Bubonic plague. Plague occurs in arias with a lot of burrowing rodents. During the renaissance rats were probably big problems. Any rat living in someone’s home or running down the street could be infected. Rodents also act as long term preservers for plague.
Firstly there are many ways the Plague was said to have begun and how to cure it. Flea infested rats were the cause of the Black Plague. People tried to cure themselves by sticking various herbs, like thyme and other strong scented herbs, or placing bowls of milk in the sick’s bedroom to absorb the poison. Many people were said to have separated themselves from the ill. When some one fell sick with the plague they only had about three or four days to live.
