This further added to the effectiveness of the set. The projection was intense and powerful. There was not a place in the theatre that you could not understand what was being said. The final bows brought everyone to their feet in an uproar of praises and applause. If I had the money, I would travel across the country to watch it again in another theatre because of how powerful the show was.
While viewing this piece the tone or quality that I feel is one that is very tribal or simple. The dancing does not come across as very complex although it very well may be. The first movement I noticed was a performer leaping suddenly into the air. This reminded me of a bird taking off for flight. Another movement I noticed was the performers tip-toeing very quickly.
This truly shows how grueling of a task driving a stunt plane is and the pressure they are under. Emotion and passion really comes through in this description because it is easy to relate to the passion and drive preforming artist such as Olympic gymnast and cyclist have, putting into perspective just how talented and driven Rahm
This dance seemed to be very precise. My evaluation says that it was a very sad but yet entertaining dance. The Greek story about how Prometheus stole the fire from Zeus was in there because of the fire, but what I realized was that it seemed to be more of a love story than anything else. The lifts and in how they were executed was very well. The story seemed to be very well thought of, The dancers all was very good.
Every performer brought their own personality and blew the audience away. Altogether the props, lighting and costumes was well presented. The strong, defined colours shown on the costumes made it particular easy for the audience to recognise how to feel. The props were simple but extremely effective, especially in the “Broken,” scene. The storyline however was unreasonably hard to grasp as a young audience member.
Both musical performers incorporated unique musical elements such as melody, harmony rhythm to mention a few. Lowell Lieberman performance was very captivating through his exhibition of passion throughout his musical circles. Throughout his musical performance, Liebermann makes imaginative use of rich and varied harmonic rhythm. His performance shows a classical theme from the beginning to the end. The mood in Lieberman music made the entire room gloomy whiles the melodic lines made the room flowing, the rich harmonies in his music made the room surprisingly striking.
The work tells a story about and it goes into great detail and makes it very clear through precise graceful movement each part of the story that is taking place at the moment. Not only being able to perform but being able to execute it to its full potential is beyond words. I naturally reflect a lot not only about steps but about what else is given to us as a viewer that the artist wanted us to see but didn’t point out directly. All I can think about is the long hours of rehearsal and constant repetition. When you are around people who are all feeling the exhaustion that everyone else is feeling can you
Everything makes the show fantastic, and brilliant. The first scene in second part was impressive as well. The first scene is “Masquerade/Why So Silent”, one of my favorite parts of the show. Dancers and singles were all on the stair of the stage with bright color fineries. The music is bright and festive which makes you want to fly onto the stage, dance, singing and celebrate the New Year with them together.
Drafted Introduction: The warmth from the lights, the roar of the audience, and the chills from the breath taking music, to name a few, are some of the magical aspects that make the stage and Broadway so enchanting. Stephen Sondheim has not only raised the bar for Broadway productions, but as influenced and created some of the most memorable and unique stories society has ever experienced. Influenced by another musical phenomenon, Oscar Hammerstein, Sondheim has dug deep into the roots of human’s and their characteristics, and put them right in front of us in a show. He has arranged beautiful songs and lyrics together, and with powerful structure and phrasing, he is known for some of the simplest, yet most powerful musical moments on Broadway.
Most historians mark this production as the beginning of minstrelsy. The form was so natural, it seemed improvised – and, in fact. much of the evening, because of the talents of the four, was. But most of all, there was exuberance and excitement. The minstrels, in their wide-eyed, large-lipped, ragged-costumed absurdity, rolled onto the stage in a thundercloud of energy which hardly ever dissipated.
