Lastly it states that how can we improve coordination and communication among all levels of government and the public in the fight against terrorism. A central argument that is clearly stated is that how are we bettering the systems that we have in place to help us better defend ourselves from terrorist attacks. I convinced that the study was worth doing because the author explains the difference in what we was doing in the past and how we took those security measures and develop a better system for the present but using those past experiences in a matter that we are able to develop a better system also. Using the past and present terrorist attacks can enable us to have better systems for our future and perhaps ensuring our people have a safer place to live for them and our children. From what the author has stated is that, Homeland Security is improving the National Warning Systems in order to improve coordination and communication and also improving on the Homeland Security Advisory System (HSAS and the National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) but I believe that the National Terrorism Advisory System has a great
Root cause analysis is a method of problem solving that tries to identify the principal causes of problems because it is the best way to achieve complete prevention of recurrence. The American Revolution, and perhaps future revolutions as well, are caused for some core reasons. These are immensely important in analyzing the war and the future of America for they will turn out to shape the very democratic ideals that wrought our great nation. I think history is taught and learned for the hope of not repeating the atrocities, learning from the mistakes, and, in general, to learn from the past. That’s why the causes of the Revolution are most important, because they can be used to prevent more bloodshed and war.
Hick argues that if God had created humanity in his presence then the gap between God and humanity would be so small that it would limit our freedom. Hick calls this knowledge gap between God and humanity ‘The Epistemic Distance’. Hick further explains that if we were created too close to God in terms of knowledge, we would be overwhelmed by him and would worship him for the wrong reasons. Humans are not born
On one hand, the Enlightenment views saw God as a far away figure that did not interfere with the lives of humans. The Enlightenment was a period of intellectual growth that tried to explain the true nature of mankind and how it progresses. One of the most important theorists for The Enlightenment was John Locke. John Locke created a theory called tabula theory, which had important assumptions about human nature and undermined Christian assertion that humankind was inherently sinful. Another person who also criticized some of the religious views was Pierre Bayle.
Rosa Parks and Gilgamesh are very different on the outside, although their shared internal values connect the two because of their desire to attain their goals. Though Rosa had unrelated achievements set out to accomplish, Gilgamesh had a similar purpose to Rosa’s. Numerous people today may believe Parks changed the world in various ways that affect us in a positive manner. Gilgamesh changed lives just like Rosa did in this century. Though we may not look at it in the same perspective views, Rosa as well as Gilgamesh changed lives.
Many examples in the book made me consider perspectives that I had never thought of before. In my opinion, this book definitely stirred up a reassurance of my place in society and what can be done to liberate the oppressed. I believe the voices represented in this book can cause negative reactions from some churches because it goes against what is and has been normal. Churches would not really like to change the view of “white” Christ to be a diverse Christ of another race because it would change certain aspects and power. The church is called to be one diverse body of God, but as churches can remain dominant to one race, it becomes difficult to incorporate diversity into what already is established.
Also, a more specific type of person who could have read this could a historian. This is because; historians study many significant periods in history which would relate to the Cold War. On a personal level, the author wrote the text to show the tragedy that the Cold War was and how technology would move forward while humans do not. In a way, the story is directed to the audience to show what the future could be, without a doubt, if no one would take action to resolve a problem that can affect the future greatly, including mankind. This is all poop.
In conclusion, we see that there were multiple controversial events leading up to the American Revolution and the publication of the Declaration of Independence. The different perspectives help to really, truly understand the motives of doing what each character did personally to impact the events leading up to peace and independence of the colonies. Personally, I thought that this story was interesting because I’ve always wanted to have a better understanding of events in US History. Jeff Shaara helped me have a better understanding of the motives and thought of each character impacting everything from their time to even now. Without them, we wouldn’t be here today learning and getting a better understanding of our ancestors and how we came
This is simply “viewing people’s behavior form the perspective of their own culture” (Schaefer, 2012, p. 54). As Americans, most of us are proud of our culture and what we believe. However, this does not mean that just because another culture chooses to live their lives differently, they are somehow “wrong”. It also does not make the way we live “right”. While the Nacrima’s practices seem strange to us, as Miner has written about them, cultural relativism is an important practice in our daily lives.
Most people have a basic understanding of obedience; however, many may fail to see the application and the impact of it in their own lives and in our society. Submission into conformity discourages the type of independence that is valued in our supposedly free-thinking world. Censorship is one of the major themes in Fahrenheit 451, and its impact is illustrated through submission in appearance, behavior and thought. This invites us to draw clear relationships between Ray Bradbury‘s novel and our current society. The association between appearance and social acceptance is already apparent in our lives.
