The Struggle of Scarcity in High School Scarcity written by Sendhil Mullainathan and Eldar Sharif is a book full of concepts such as slack, bandwidth, and tunneling that help you look at the deeper meaning of life. These concepts are sometimes what takestake over our minds causing us to fall into the negative part of scarcity. The negative part of scarcity is when you leave things until the last minute and when it’s finally due you start rushing to get it finished. Scarcity works alongside human nature. It is not something that you choose to do, it captures your attention. As Eldar Sharif states "Scarcity operates unconsciously. It captures attention whether the minds owner wishes it or not."(7) This means that no matter the plan at hand, once something is significant it captures the mind instantly. However, On the other hand Sscarcity can have both a positive and negative outcomes. I have had many counts of scarcity, but there is one that I will never forget, my Senior Research Paper.
