Cheema 1 Irmandeep Cheema Ms. Dornford ENG2D1 Thursday February 22nd 2012 The Stolen Party In the society we live in today, the wealthy think of themselves above the less fortunate. In the story “The Stolen Party” by Liliana Heker, the conflict of person vs. society is when Rosaura is dealing with the upper class society. This is evident when Rosaura’s mother tells her not to go, when Rosaura is not wanted at the party and when Senora Ines excludes Rosaura. Rosaura is discussing and arguing with her mother about how she is Luciana’s friend. Her mother is pleading for her not to go as she does not think that they want her there.
She describes Stella-Rondo be inconsistent and unstable based on her being spoiled when they were children. Sister uses this immediately to make a point of her sister’s unappreciation for everything she has ever had. But she never describes how she behaved as a child which can be suggested that she may think the reader can assumed she was the better of the two. Then, she goes to say that out of nowhere Stella-Rondo leaves her husband and returns home with a two-year-old child whom she claims is adopted. Sister sees right through her sister’s façade considering the timing of everything.
When Evyn first saw Eleni, with her red lipstick, black pants, and high heels, she thought Eleni looked nothing like a college professor and a mother. Evyn made the assumption that she went partying every night. That is an example of her being judgemental. After her father, Birdie, reminded Evyn that her new combination lock was 5, 10, 15; she forgot, making her forgetful. An example of Evyn being unintelligent was when her so-called friends, Andrea’s group, calls her Evelyn and doesn’t talk to her unless it’s to ask about updates with Ajax, she doesn’t realize that they’re just using her.
She is seen to have received a cold reception from both sues, and they do not want to communicate to her or be associated with her. She is suffering rejection and humiliation when they pack her items in one corner and invite their boyfriends in the room and apparently they start kissing. However, a rude character is seen when she does not introduce her mother when they arrived in the dormitory. Lisa feels unwanted and as an intruder in the room. The second case, which is titled the surprised roommates, is centered on two ladies called Sues Taylor and Sue Knowles.

Aunt Alexandra was horrified with the fact that Scout did not live up to the standards society had of women. She believed Scout should be wearing dresses, not running around wild like a boy. To further outstretch this topic of stereotypes, an article published in August 2014 by The New York Times stresses the phrase 'throw like a girl' and the hidden aspects of it. On the second page of the article, the author speaks of stereotypes of the female community. "Such restriction, constriction, and fragmentation can be observed in many everyday movements, including the way a woman walks, sits, and carries books.

She became furious and she cursed the goddesses. The goddesses knew that she wouldn’t learn her lesson so they sent two other goddesses in disguise having a rough life, needing assistants to carry supplies back to their cottage. Deena ran across the goddesses in disguise, asking for help from Deena for her assistants to carry supplies Deena refused. She gave the rudest look and the rudest advice saying “ I they aren’t able to carry their own home supplies to their cottage that is only 20 feet away then don’t carry anything at all “. When the head of goddesses saw what Deena did.
The story of the Cottingley Fairies is one of the best known controversies concerning the argument of whether fairies actually exist. It all began in July of 1917, with Frances Griffiths getting into trouble with her mother for coming home with wet shoes and stockings. In frustration, Frances' mother said that she didn't understand what attracted the two girls to the beck as there was nothing there to see. In her book, Reflections on the Cottingley Fairies, Frances says, 'I did what I had never done before. I answered her back, yelling, 'There is!
