Malek trains Joss in learning how to track vampires and while Joss is training to stay awake for 3 days he falls asleep. After Joss awakes he follows a blood trail finding Malek's body ripped to shreds by a vampire. Kat is Joss's best friend/girlfriend who he met while he was at the train station she was being hunted down by a vampire. Kat knows more than she lets on she knows that where she is a vampire slayer training camp. Sirus is Kat's father who is the care taker of the vampire camp.

In Chris’s attempt to find his precious journal he accidentally stumbles onto a mound of letters addressed to him from his supposedly dead mother, written to him after she had died. Coming to the realization that Chris’s dad had lied about his mom’s death Chris vomits and lays on the bed until his dad comes home. Ed, after realizing Chris had read the letters, tells Chris not only that he lied about his mother’s death, but that he was also the one who killed Wellington after a fight with Ms. Shears!

He uses the time off to go home.
The finger starts to bleed and her mother says it is bad luck, Esperanza starts worrying. F. Her father is not home yet and begins to think something bad has happened. G. They all hear someone coming from outside and Alfonso, who is friends with Esperanza’s dad looks down with a grieving face. I. Esperanza sees that her father’s lifeless body in the wagon and was killed by the bandits.
Every time her uncle and aunts go visits her she always gets sad when they have to leave because of the goodbyes. Although most of the time his flights are delayed, she decides to stay home instead of going along to drop him and leaves, her father tells her that her uncle said he will never forget them. Furthermore, she talks about the day she turned fifteen and how they did not have enough money to celebrate like most girls with a quincenera but instead they have a gathering of 6 people to celebrate. Their budget is tight but her mom still decides to buy what her daughter deserves and nothing lower. She has a fun memory despite the struggle of being poor.

This style was meant to accentuate the calm and quiet atmosphere that was expected at home (“True Womanhood”). It’s a gender role created by social norm for girls to be pretty and impress the opposite sex. Also in the story it shows another great example of a stereotype commonly pushed on young women. When Jim gets home she always has dinner cooking.
