Philosophy 101 November 13, 2012 The Road To Becoming A Fully Mature Human Being One can say that to become a “fully” mature person all one needs is the right education, but it definitely takes more than that. In order to develop into this “perfect” mature person, one needs to have the proper upbringing as well. I believe that our environment plays a more important role than education. Through years of education we are taught the basic norms of life, we are taught to be disciplined and to abide by the rules that are set by our authority figures. And even though these are key aspects for growing into fully mature person we would have to not only have a great education but also be raised in a habitat in which the proper values are instilled from childhood. A fully developed human being would be able to have a well-established life, meaning he would be able to be act in a responsible manner in regards to his life and his family. He would be able to instill proper values to his children and teach them to follow in his path to attain success. He would feel a sense of accomplishment that he has succeeded above the expectations of his own community and this would especially be the case when we are referring to those of low-income communities. In these communities one can find it hard to overcome the bad influences that lurk in the streets but many believe that through education all this can be overcome. With education we can say that one has learned how to behave socially, learned to obey laws and also learned how to follow norms that can help shape our character. We apply these skills through out our professional lives and these help us succeed further in the goal of becoming a mature human being.
